Magisk is the Android tool that anyone interested in granting root permissions to their phone should download. Thanks to it, we can have root access on almost any phone, as in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. And to install Magisk we need to install a recovery using ADB commands such as TWRP. If this all sounds like Chinese to you, don't worry. In this link you have everything you need to root your Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 phone.
And why do we use Magisk Manager, the APK that is installed on the system when we root? Well, to download a series of modules, installable from the Magisk Manager itself, with which to gain in customization, efficiency, battery and even the possibility of installing the Google Pixel Gcam camera.
Now, we are going to tell you which modules are the ones that, at least, you should try on your Xiaomi mobile. Before starting with the modules we have to warn you something. Installing or flashing a module from the Magisk Manager application is not without danger, so before performing any operation, we need to create a phone recovery file through our recovery. If something goes wrong, for example, that the home screen is stuck and the phone does not start, do not worry. We will go back into the recovery and reinstall the copy, having the mobile operational again.
First steps: create a backup on your mobile
To create the copy we enter our recovery. We can do it through third-party applications such as 'Recovery Reboot' or, with the terminal off, press, at the same time, the volume up button and unlock until the phone vibrates. The initial TWRP screen will appear, we slide to unlock and choose the 'Backup' box. On the next screen we don't touch anything except that we swipe where it asks us to. The copy creation will begin. Reboot and go. When you want to reinstall the copy, enter the 'Recovery' screen by holding the two volume up and unlock buttons at the same time until it appears and choose 'Restore'. The process may take about 5 minutes. depending on the size of the backup.
Now, we go with the installation of the Magisk modules. To install modules either we install it by looking for it in the 'Downloads' section of it or we install it because we already have the patch downloaded to our phone.
Install and manage your Magisk Manager modules
Open the Magisk Manager application. Open the side menu with three stripes and look at two sections, 'Downloads' and 'Modules'. In the first section we can find any Magisk module, putting the name in the search engine. Once located, click on the little arrow and then on 'Install'. A kind of command window will open in which, sometimes, you will be asked to act in a certain way, usually with volume up or down (for example, in the case of the Viper sound module). In the 'Modules' folder you can install the modules you already have on your mobile and check the ones you already have as well as uninstalling them (trash icon) or turning them off (check box). To install a module in this section you just have to click on the '+' and look for the ZIP file of the module in question.
On some occasions, however, we will need to flash the module through TWRP recovery but this is not usual.
Now that we know how to install and uninstall the modules, we only have the most important thing left. What modules should I start downloading to improve the user experience with my Android mobile?
Improve efficiency and autonomy thanks to Magisk
Advanced Charging Controller. Thanks to this module we will extend the life of our autonomy. We look for it with this name, install and restart. Do not look for any visible application because it does not have, this module makes the changes internally and you do not have to touch anything.
Daily Job Scheduler. A script to clean the cache waste and optimize the mobile so that it works as the first day. It works automatically and takes up very little RAM.
Enable Doze for GMS Magisk Module. With this module we are going to go into sleep mode much more aggressively and efficiently, making it possible for our mobile to hardly discharge the battery when we are with the screen off, without using it, such as when we go to sleep.
NFS Injector. Maximum efficiency for a module that hardly uses battery power and redirects the power of your mobile to the most demanding application you are using. For example, if you are using a game with very powerful graphics, the NFS injector will prioritize power to the game.
Viper4Android. This mod is very loved by Android users since it can significantly enhance the sound of your mobile both in headphones, as in the speaker and Bluetooth connection. To configure this module, it is best to go category by category, testing, raising and lowering levels until we find the desired sound effect.
Emoji One. This module replaces the group of emojis that you have on the keyboard to adapt it to the new EmojiOne 3.0 design that adapts many new icons.
CrossBreeder Lite. Again, another cordless juicer whose results could vary between devices. However, it is worth trying it to see if you can scratch the odd hour of the screen.
Roboto Fonts. To have the Roboto font in our Redmi Note 5.
And these are some of the best modules for Magisk that we can download to install. If one of them causes your mobile to not turn on, don't worry, go back to the backup using TWRP. If you happen to be directed to the Fastboot screen when installing a module, press and hold the unlock button until it reboots. If the Fastboot screen appears again, you will need to recover and install your backup.
