DxOMark, the well-known mobile camera analysis page, has just updated its list of best cameras. The latest inclusion has been the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, a device that has nothing more and nothing less than three cameras of 40, 20 and 8 megapixels with focal apertures f / 1.8, f / 2.2 and f / 2.4 and RGB lenses, great wide and telephoto. But this is not the only mobile that tops the list. Other devices from both Huawei and Apple and Google lead the top positions for mobile phones with the best camera of 2019. We review all of them and see their characteristics.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
We have just seen the specifications of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro camera. In addition to having three cameras of different resolution and aperture, it has a 5x hybrid zoom and one of the best night mode today, as well as an ultra panoramic mode grace to the wide angle of your second sensor. In video recording, it stands out the optical stabilization, the Smart mode and the ability to record in slow motion up to 960 FPS.
The score that DxOMark gives the Mate 20 Pro is 109, the highest so far. Our first impressions here.
Huawei P20 Pro
A terminal very similar to the Mate 20 Pro, with a 40 megapixel RGB sensor and f / 1.8 aperture, another 20 megapixel monochrome and f / 1.6 aperture and another telephoto lens with 8 megapixels f / 2.4. Same virtues as the previous model, unlike the monochrome sensor, which is responsible for capturing high-quality black and white images.
Its DxOMark score is the same as its counterpart, 109. Our review in this other article.
iPhone XS Max
Apple's proposal for this 2019 has a double rear camera of 12 and 12 megapixels (RGB and telephoto) with focus aperture f / 1.8 and f / 2.4 with double optical stabilization. Of these, the portrait mode stands out, which is proclaimed as one of the best, and video recording, one of the most successful today. Also the calibration of the colors and the dynamic range stand out over other models, although it does not have a night mode in the native Camera application (it has a mode called HDR + for night photographs).
Its score is 105 on the DxOMark website. Tuexperto's analysis in this link.
HTC U12 +
Although the model has not been very popular in Spain, it currently has the fourth best camera in the ranking according to the DxOMark website. It has two 12 and 16 megapixel sensors with RGB and telephoto sensors and a focal aperture of f / 1.75 and f / 2.6. In practice we obtain photographs with a very good dynamic range, good results at night and a fairly decent portrait mode precisely due to the difference between aperture and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the Camera application.
His score on the camera analysis page is 103.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
rhdr
The latest high-end Samsung also falls within the ranking of the mobile phones with the best camera of 2019. Double rear camera of 12 and 12 megapixels with optical stabilization and focal aperture of f / 1.5 variable up to 2.4 and f / 2.4 in the secondary sensor is what we find in this terminal, both with optical stabilization. Good photographs at night without resorting to night mode and one of the most off-road cameras in the ranking. It is not the best doing portrait modes, especially if we compare it with the Pixel 3 or the iPhone XS and XS Max.
The Note 9's score is the same as the previous one: 103 points. You can see our analysis in this link.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 3
One of the latest mobiles incorporated into the DxOMark website. A camera very similar to that of the iPhone XS Max, with two 12 megapixel sensors and a focal aperture of f / 1.8 and f / 2.4. The results are very similar to the aforementioned model. Remarkable is its portrait mode, the results in night photography thanks to the night mode, the HDR mode and its stabilization in videos thanks to the combination of optical and digital stabilization.
On this occasion, the score is similar to the previous models. Specifically, 103 points.
Huawei P20
Another Huawei mobile? Another Huawei mobile. Unlike the previous two, we find two 20 and 20 megapixel RGB and monochrome sensors with focal apertures f / 1.6 and f / 1.8. The results in this model of the Chinese brand are very similar to those of the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro, although with some differences. We miss the good detail of the portrait mode and the ability to zoom 5x hybrid. The rest of the details are practically the same: recording at 960 FPS, sensational night mode, quality video stabilization and so on.
The score of this loses 7 points, staying at about 102 points. In this other entry our analysis.
iPhone XR
The iPhone X also enters the ranking despite having only one camera thanks to the fact that it has, in essence, the same main sensor as the XS Max. A single 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f / 1.8 focal aperture. Exactly the same virtues as the iPhone XS and XS Max, unlike the portrait mode, which this time uses the Apple A12 Bionic processor to cut the image. Otherwise, it is exactly the same as its counterparts.
Your score? 101, not bad for having just one camera.
Google Pixel 3
A mobile with a camera very similar to that of its past generation. The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL have a single 12.2-megapixel sensor with even larger pixels, f / 1.8 aperture, and optical and digital stabilization. The results, as expected, are very similar to those of last year's mobiles. The best night mode seen on a mobile and a video recording quality comparable to that of the iPhone thanks to stabilization via hardware and software.
So much so that it gets the same score as the iPhone XR: 101.
