It is one of the most anticipated updates of the year, but the truth is that (as usual) it is being asked. Even so, it seems that some users, such as those of the LG G7 and LG V40, are already seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Although the Korean firm LG has not been especially punctual in this of the updates, after the launch of Android 8 Oreo in some of its terminals, it promised to launch the following updates at a slightly faster pace. The first to benefit from this new plan will appear to be the LG G7 ThinQ and LG V40 ThinQ.
We are talking about the two flagships of the company, so it is not surprising that these are the ones chosen for the rollout of the update. Be that as it may, the company has opened what it calls the Software Upgrade Center, a space that will serve to deploy the update to Android 9 Pie for these two devices. Before them did the LG G7 One, a device that having Android One, a purer version of this operating system, makes it easier to move to Android 9 Pie.
LG G7 ThinQ, the first to update to Android 9 Pie
The first to receive the long-awaited dose of Android 9 Pie will be the LG G7 ThinQ. The company has launched a public beta program in its home country of Korea. It started yesterday and is open to any owner of an LG G7 ThinQ who wants to enter, regardless of the mobile operator with which it operates. In this way, those users who wish to do so will be able to test the news and advantages of Android 9 Pie before the update reaches the common user.
With this beta test, what LG wants is to detect and solve the errors that may exist in relation to that version before they can have a much larger magnitude. Samsung has done the same with the update to Android 9 Pie for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 +. What happens, also in the case of LG, is that only users from the countries in which it is being carried out can access the test. In Spain, if there is no parallel test, we will have to wait for the official update.
At the moment there are no dates on the horizon, so it is not possible to determine how long the tests will last. What does seem evident is that they will be extended over the next few weeks and that by the end of the year, the update should be sufficiently tested to reach all users with guarantees.
In this way, it is expected that Android 9 Pie will begin to land users of the LG G7 and LG V40 between the end of December and the beginning of January. Be that as it may, we will remain attentive to inform you.
Android 9, an update with many new features
The update to Android 9 Pie brings with it a good number of news. One of the most acclaimed functions is the adaptive battery system, which allows regulating the autonomy of the equipment according to the use of the user and certain economy techniques.
It also has a system that will anticipate our actions, thus achieving a much more agile operation, analyzing contextual information through artificial intelligence. Navigation will be much more intuitive, thanks to the gesture control system. On the other hand, we must mention the new panel with which Google wants us to make healthier use of the phone. In this way, we can control how much time we spend connected to the screen and how many minutes of our day to day we lose in each of the apps or functions that we have installed.
