We could say that today's mobile screens are practically like mini televisions. OLED panels with HDR capabilities are being used, the same as in large inch televisions. However, we cannot always enjoy this type of screen in all its splendor. First because of the format, which does not usually coincide with that of movies and series. And second, because each application is the one that must support to take advantage of these technologies individually. Fortunately, some manufacturers continue to work on allowing you to enjoy all kinds of content with the highest possible quality. Now both the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Huawei P20 Pro can already play HDR on Netflix.
Last year, Huawei hit the table. At the beginning of the year it launched the Huawei P20 Pro, one of the most complete mobiles that the Chinese manufacturer has ever launched. Later, at the end of the year, he finished off the move with the launch of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, a mobile that has become the best of the year for practically all specialized media. Both offered the ability to reproduce HDR images, but were not compatible with this system through streaming video platforms. Why? Because they lacked Widevine L1 certification.
However, the latest system update released by Huawei addresses this issue. The Huawei P20 Pro has been updated to EMUI 9.0 based on the Android 9 Pie operating system. This version does allow HD and HDR streaming transmission, thus achieving superior image quality on the mobile device. Since both models have an OLED screen compatible with HDR10 images, from now on we can enjoy Netflix content in all its splendor.
An update with many new features
The latest update released by Huawei not only incorporates the ability to play HDR content on streaming platforms. It also includes gesture-based navigation, second-generation GPU Turbo technology that increases the phone's performance, and a redesigned settings menu, among other things.
It is worth remembering that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro was launched with EMUI 9, but based on Android 9 Pie. However, the Huawei P20 Pro came with Android Oreo-based EMUI. With this new update, Huawei's first flagship of 2018 goes to use EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie.
