It was during the presentation of the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro that the company launched EMUI 9.1, the new version of its customization layer that includes many improvements over EMUI 9.1. Now it is the Mate range with the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X that receives the update in beta form. Although at the moment its distribution is limited to China, it is expected that the manufacturer will distribute the aforementioned version to the rest of the countries during the next few weeks.
The new version includes a multitude of improvements that affect not only performance, but also the interface and system options.
All the EMUI 9.1 improvements for the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X
No more than two months have passed since the last EMUI update by Huawei and we already have a new version. While it is true that the Android base is the same (Android 9 Pie), the manufacturer has included several improvements in the Huawei Mate 20.
First of all, the company renews a good part of the system interface with icons identical to those of the Huawei P30 series. Performance is another aspect that has been improved compared to EMUI 9. Specifically, EMUI 9.1 improves performance by 24%, responsiveness by 44% and third-party application processes by 60%.
In addition, the company has introduced a new file system called EROFS that improves memory read operations by up to 20% on the EXT4 partition of the system.
Last but not least, Huawei has announced the third version of GPU Turbo. According to data from the manufacturer, GPU Turbo 3 will be able to reduce energy consumption and increase the frame rate per second of games that are optimized for Huawei's API. The new version also achieves greater stability in terms of FPS.
When will it arrive in Spain? No official data has been provided, but everything indicates that it will be from the second half of May when all users of a Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X begin to update officially. The only thing that is known for sure is that the update will have a weight of around 6 GB, which is why it is recommended to have the necessary space.
