The Taiwanese company HTC promised a few days ago to upgrade its two main mobile of the range HTC One 's, HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 to Android 5.0 Lollipop within 90 days after receipt by Google Code of the update. Google has already begun to distribute this code, and HTC has not been slow to confirm its commitment through its social networks: the HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in less than 90 days from the day of today.
This confirmation has been made by HTC from its official Twitter profile ( @htc ). This Twitter account corresponds to the US version of HTC phones, so it is difficult to predict if this 90-day period will also apply to European users or if, instead, owners of an HTC One M7 or an HTC One M8 purchased in Europe will have to wait some more time to receive the same update. What there is no doubt about is thatThe first to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be users who have purchased any of these phones freely, while the operators will take some additional time to launch their respective updates.
One of the most repeated rumors in recent days regarding HTC's Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been the possibility that this company will also launch a new version of its HTC Sense UI interface. Some rumors suggested that HTC would launch together with Android 5.0 Lollipop the HTC Sense interface in its version of HTC Sense UI 7, which would replace the current version of HTC Sense 6 UI. To this day it seems that these rumors are not true, and HTC has not confirmed at any time that it is working on any major update to its interface (beyond the usual bug fixes).
In addition to the HTC One M7 and HTC One M8, HTC has also confirmed that in the coming weeks it will announce which other phones in its catalog will be updated to the most recent version of the Android operating system. At the moment there is no official information in this regard, although everything indicates that the HTC One Mini (along with the HTC One Mini 2) and the HTC One Max are three indisputable candidates to upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Although, yes, their respective updates will probably wait until mid-2015, while updates to the flagships of the rangeHTC One should start shipping in early 2015 (between January and February).
In addition to the new features of Android 5.0 Lollipop (along with the new security measures and along with interesting options such as, for example, the option to eliminate the applications of the operators), we will have to wait until the arrival of this update to the HTC One to discover the changes that HTC will apply to its own interface.
