BQ has announced on its Twitter account the deployment of Android 9 Pie for the BQ Aquaris X2 and X2 Pro, two devices that landed in May last year with Android 8.1 Oreo. Therefore, if you own one of these two models, it is normal that you receive a pop-up message on the screen advising you of the update. If this does not happen after a few days, you can check it yourself from the Settings section; System; Upgrade system; Check for updates.
The change of course of BQ, which from now on operates under the Vsmart label, has not neglected its most loyal users. Proof of this is the new Android 9 update for the Aquaris X2 and X2 Pro. This is coming via OTA, which means that it will not be necessary to use cables to do it. Once you see the notice, you just have to download it from the terminal. Of course, make sure beforehand that you have more than half the charge and are in a place with a stable and secure WiFi connection.
Android 9 Pie offers a large number of important features. We can highlight among them an adaptive battery system, which allows to save energy depending on the use that is given to the device. It also has redesigned and improved quick settings, a user dashboard, so you know how you spend time on mobile, or a do not disturb mode. Also, Android 9 is a faster, more stable and secure system than its predecessor.
