The first wave of updates to MIUI 11 is here. I, as the owner of a Xiaomi Mi 9T, had the update to MIUI 11 scheduled for today, the new version of the customization layer that would bring juicy news in terms of interface design and new useful tools. The arrival of the new version of the cape has not arrived accompanied by Android 10 but, even so, we feel fortunate to be the first to have this new stable version of the Xiaomi cape par excellence.
We are going to present you the 7 best tricks that we have been able to apply in our Xiaomi Mi 9T and its new MIUI 11 layer. We teach you everything new that we can see, do and apply, accompanied by practical captures so that you do not lose detail… especially if you terminal is one of the next to be updated.
Do not miss these 7 tricks of MIUI 11
Notification curtain dark mode shortcut
We all know that, by sliding the finger down, we unfold the notification curtain and we can see a series of direct access icons: activate and deactivate mobile data, WiFi, flashlight, silence the mobile, GPS, reading mode… and in MIUI 11 we have a new shortcut to activate and deactivate dark mode in a very fast and easy way. Pull down the notification curtain and look for the sun and moon icon. You may have to scroll the shortcut screen to the side to see it. We remind you that in the 'Edit' icon you can first place the shortcuts that you use the most, relegating the ones that you use the least and do not care if they disappear.
Increase Ambient Display Personalization
The Xiaomi Mi 9T included Ambient Display, a function by which we can have, with the mobile locked, a still image that shows us the time and some notifications from specific applications. Thanks to MIUI 11 we have seen how new images have been added, now classified by categories, with the inclusion, in addition, of the possibility of configuring a personalized message. Inside the 'Ambient screen' section we can see all the new styles. In the one of 'signature' we can place the message we want, adjusting the color of the text, alignment, size, thickness of the bold and the possibility that the color changes according to the weather.
Connect your Xiaomi easier with the new Mi Share
The file sharing tool My Share has undergone a radical update, integrating itself into the system and ceasing to be, simply, another application on the phone. If we enter the settings of our phone we will find a new section, Connection and sharing. When accessing we find the following screen.
In the lower half we will find the usual: the tools to share our 4G with the laptop. The new we have it at the beginning with three essential tools of MIUI 11.
- My Share. With this application we can share files very quickly and without having to be connected to the Internet. At the moment it is compatible between Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and Realme phones.
- To emit. Broadcast the contents of your mobile screen to an external monitor. Now you can broadcast with the screen off and you can avoid, on the screen that serves as a projector, mobile notifications that could threaten your privacy,
- Print. Area to send documents to your printer.
New screenshot
Now, when we take a screenshot, two options will appear next to the thumbnail display of it, 'Scroll' and 'Send'. With the first, a window will open to choose the application through which we want to share the capture, thus saving us precious time. With 'Displace' we can continue making the capture until completing the entire page.
Digital well-being on MIUI 11
Xiaomi users will also be able to see how much time they spend in front of their phone screen with the new 'Digital Wellbeing' section that you will find within the settings. When accessing this section we will find the following screen.
In it we will see a graph with the use we have given the phone, which are the most used applications, the notifications we have received, the times we have unlocked the mobile… and, best of all, some tools to disconnect from the mobile, as a control panel in which we can add usage time for certain apps or a practical 'rest mode' that will help you disconnect from your mobile and avoid interruptions while you sleep. In this rest mode, a black and white screen will be activated and the 'Do not disturb' mode will be activated by default. In this section you can also manage notifications, the 'Do not disturb' mode and configure parental control.
New nature sounds for notifications
The sound and vibration section has changed the interface to make it easier for the user. Now we have, first of all, some cards to change the tones of the phone in a faster way. If we choose the new 'sounds of nature' these tones will be modifying and changing throughout the day, adjusting to the time we meet.
Manage notifications more comfortably
Now, thanks to MIUI 11 we can manage in a more graphic and simple way all the incoming notifications on our Xiaomi mobile. To do this, we are going to access the settings section and, then, the notifications section. On this screen, the first thing we are going to see are three thumbnails that show you the different notification notification options: notifications on the lock screen, floating notifications and the notification icon. If you click on each of the options, a new screen will open with the list of applications that we have installed on our mobile. Here we will activate or deactivate the ones we want in the place we want.
