Android 10 is the latest version of Android available on the market. Although at the moment there are few phones that have received the update officially, a significant part of users already have the latest cake? of Google. Models such as the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10e and S10 Plus, the OnePlus 6, 6T, 7, 7 Pro, 7T and 7T Pro, the Google Pixel 2, 2 XL, 3, 3 XL, 4 and 4XL or the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro are some of the phones compatible with Android Q. We have had the opportunity to test the update on a OnePlus 6T and we have compiled several of the best Android 10 tricks to get the most out of the mobile.

Share WiFi using a QR code
Although it is a feature that can already be seen in customizations of some manufacturers such as Xiaomi MIUI or Huawei EMUI, the truth is that it was not until the latest version of Android that Google decided to introduce this function as standard.
The process is as simple as going to the WiFi and Internet section in the Settings application and clicking on the network to which we are connected. Then we will click on Share and a QR code will automatically be generated. A password will also be generated with the original characters of the router password.
If we want to connect to a network using this method, just click on the QR code icon that will appear in the same section and scan the code in question using the mobile camera.
Change the default Android theme
Although Android Q is still not compatible with third-party themes, it does support a greater degree of customization than Android 9 Pie thanks to the Personalization section that is included in the Settings application.
In this section we can change aspects of the system such as the font, the icon pack or their shape (round, square…), the accent color and a long etcetera.
Activate parental control to control your children
The arrival of Android 10 has led to the launch of a new platform called Family Link with which we can activate parental control within each Android mobile without the need to resort to external applications.
The question options can be found in the Digital well-being and parental control section within the Android Settings application. Now we just have to configure parental control in the homonymous option and connect the account with Family Link.
From the platform enabled for this we can control aspects such as the time of phone use, the downloading of applications from Google Play or access to certain web pages. All of
Or choose a custom dark mode
The latest version of Android finally integrates the native dark mode. Thanks to this we can change the color of the system to a dark black to reduce the energy impact of the screen on the battery.
Just slide the notification bar to activate this mode in the quick settings. We can also access the previous Personalization section, or failing that, the Screen.
Any application without its corresponding Dark Mode? From the Developer Options, a menu that we can activate by pressing several times on the Build Number within Device Information, we can force Dark Mode in a really simple way. Within this we will find an option called Force dark mode.
Once we have activated the option in question, all the applications will turn black.
Suggested actions and responses: the other great novelty of Android 10
Part of the news in the latest version of Android has been focused on improving Artificial Intelligence. One of the most useful Android 10 tricks is based on what Google has called Quick Actions and Responses, a function that allows us to interact with notifications from applications by predicting responses or actions that we are going to carry out.
In this case, activating this option is as simple as going to the Settings application; specifically to the Applications and notifications section. Later we will click on Notifications and finally on Advanced, where we will find a tab that will allow us to activate the option of Actions and suggested responses.
To interact with applications using this function, we will only have to slide the notification in question with two fingers downwards. Then the system will propose a series of actions and quick responses.
Connect your mobile to an external monitor
Another option that we can find in the Development Options is to Force desktop mode, a function that allows us to connect the mobile phone to an external monitor to transform the Android interface into a complete desktop system, such as Windows, Linux or macOS, with separate windows and applications. Nothing that Samsung or Huawei did not integrate into equipment such as the Galaxy S10 or the Huawei P30.
Due to hardware limitations, of course, we can only connect devices that have a USB type C 3.1 connection and a cable compatible with image output, either USB type C to USB type C or USB type C to HDMI.
Mute notifications you don't want to hear
Silencing notifications from a certain application or contact required their total deactivation until Android 9 Pie. With Android 10 we can silence any notification without having to deactivate them.
The process is as simple as pressing and holding the notification in question and choosing one of the options that the system offers us: Important or Other.
With the latter, we will be able to silence the notification until we tell you otherwise.
Move with gestures through the system
The most anticipated novelty of Android 10 is about screen gestures, gestures that improve significantly compared to the half integration of Android 9 Pie.
In this case the big G has created a specific section to activate these gestures called Buttons and gestures. Within this we will access Gestures and navigation bar and activate the homonymous option that allows us to interact with the system through gestures.
Some layers of customization also add the ability to change the sensitivity of gestures so as not to interfere with the operation of the keyboard and applications that have not yet been adapted to Android 10.
Also with the fingerprint sensor
Although it is increasingly less common to find phones with physical fingerprint sensors, the truth is that today it is still the fastest - and safest - method to unlock the mobile.
Now we can interact with the notification bar through this sensor with functions that allow us to lower and raise the curtain when we receive notifications, as some Huawei and Honor devices currently allow.
We can activate the option in question through the same Buttons and gestures menu where we can activate the gestures on the screen.
Notifications in the form of bubbles: the new hidden feature of Android 10
Another of the most interesting Android 10 tricks of the system has to do with the possibility of setting notifications in the form of bubbles. The bad news is that today the number of applications that support this feature is very limited.
To activate the function in question we will have to go again to the Android Q development options. Within the Applications section we will activate the Bubbles option. Now we will only have to activate the function in each of the applications where we want to be notified in this way.
Just go to Applications within Settings and click on the application in question. Then we will go to the Notifications section and finally activate the Bubbles option.
Easter egg: activate the hidden Paint of Android 10
The Easter egg of Android 10 has arrived in the form of a hidden Paint where we can paint to our liking as if it were a conventional image editor.
The way to activate this Easter egg is similar to that of the rest of Android versions: we will only have to press several times on Android version in Device information.
Once the Android 10 logo appears on the screen, we will have to rotate character 1 about 45 degrees, in such a way that it makes a Q with respect to character 0. Finally, we will press and hold the word Android and let the egg appear in the form of an editor images.
Amplify the sound from headphones
Sound Aplifier is the name that Google has given to its new sound amplifier, a function that, broadly speaking, allows us to increase the volume of the headphones based on the Artificial Intelligence of the system.
Within the Sound section in Android Settings we will find the option in question as long as we have previously connected headphones. The volume of the headphones will automatically increase depending on what is shown on the screen: dialogues, soundtracks, special effects…
