How to activate the FM radio on Xiaomi (Mi A1, Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite and Mi A3)
To make use of the radio on the Asian firm's mobiles from MIUI we can access the application of the same name. The problem is that Xiaomi phones with Android One (Mi A1, Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite and Mi A3) do not have a dedicated application. Nor can we use a third-party application, since the connection is enabled by default.
The solution in this case is to activate the radio manually. To do this, we will access the phone call dialer. Inside the corresponding box we will write the following code:
- * # * # 6484 # * # *
Finally we will click on the call button until a menu like the one we can see in the image below appears:
Within the menu we will navigate to the FM option, which in this case corresponds to setting number 18. Now the system will boot up a fairly basic version of Xiaomi's FM radio. To make it work we will have to connect headphones compatible with FM reception. If we want to move between the different stations we will have to click on the + and - buttons that will appear on the interface.
Best FM radio apps for Xiaomi
In the event that our phone does not have an FM radio natively, if we do, we can use third-party applications. We leave you below with a list of several FM Radio applications for Android:
- Radio Spain FM
- Radio Online - PC Radio
- myTuner
- Radio FM Spain
- Simple Radio
- TuneIn Radio
- Ivoox
It should be noted that all applications require an Internet connection to connect with the different stations. The average data consumption if we select the broadcast quality at 128 Kbps is approximately 58 MB per hour, or what is the same, 0.058 GB per hour. If we select the quality at 256 Kbps, the consumption will be practically double, about 116 MB per hour.
