The 2019 Mobile World Congress will be marked by flexible terminals and 5G. LG has not wanted to miss this appointment to show its news in mobile telephony for 2019. The terminal that we are going to talk about joins the 5G trend and has something to say to folding phones with more than one screen. The LG V50 ThinQ 5G bears the tag 5G making its intentions clear. Apart from 5G connectivity, the LG V50 ThinQ 5G has a secondary screen, you have read that correctly. It is a terminal with two screens, but it is not a terminal with a flexible screen. LG has wanted to innovate in its style, a hinge joins these two screens, but apparently they are two panels that could be independent and in fact they are.To have these two screens we have to use the accessory in a case format that is attached to the mobile. We tell you all the details and characteristics of this new LG terminal.

If you want you can have two screens and if not, only one

The terminal is designed to be a high-end, its construction has been made of metal and glass. Premium materials to give a feeling of robustness in the hand as well as a satisfactory touch when touching noble materials. At first glance, its screen is striking, with a size of 6.4 inches it occupies almost the entire front. The bezels have been reduced to the maximum in all directions, but we have a notch in the screen. It is located at the top, its size is not as small as we could have expected, but it is not oversized either.

The large screen has a corresponding resolution, QHD + or 3,120 x 1.44 pixels. Its technology is OLED, the colors will be much deeper and we will have a true black color spectrum since the pixels will be turned off to produce it. The screen format is 19.5: 9 perfect for consuming content, thanks to being more panoramic. We anticipated the two screens in this terminal, this is achieved with LG's proprietary accessory.

This accessory is connected to the side of the terminal, for practical purposes it is like a cover with a cover, but there is a second screen on that cover. The screen it adds is 6.2 inches and its resolution is Full HD +, just like the main screen, the technology of this screen is OLED. It is undoubtedly an interesting and versatile implementation, the user is the one who decides when he needs the double screen or not and can play with it to his liking. This accessory fattens and adds weight to the terminal, specifically 131 grams of weight and 1.5 centimeters thick. Something that for many may be differential, but not for other users. It will already depend on the preferences and needs of the user.

LG has opted for the Google Assistant since its launch, so much so that in its terminals it includes a button dedicated to this functionality. This button is located on the opposite side to where the lock button and the volume controls are located, so the user does not make mistakes when pressing the one he really needs. When turning the rear we see a terminal with three cameras in a horizontal position, a fingerprint reader just below these cameras and the brand logo at the bottom. The corners and edges have been rounded to improve ergonomics and facilitate comfort in hand.

High-end power with the novelty of 5G

If for some reason we wanted to open the terminal, in doing so we would see first-hand a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable via microSD. This string of data is the common point of all the terminals presented in the high-end during the Mobile World Congress, with the exception of those that use their own SOC such as Huawei or Samsung in Europe.

It is undeniable by the figures that the LG V50 ThinQ 5G will have an outstanding performance when opening applications, moving games or in day to day life. In addition, this power is controlled by the latest version of Android. For autonomy we have good news, they are 4000 mAh that come in this terminal. With this battery we have the day assured, since the new version of Android makes management much more efficient.

The 5G is present in this terminal, its own name indicates it. LG has emphasized new technology for network connections that ensure higher speeds with minimal latency. This is achieved thanks to the integration of the modem that comes standard with the new Qualcomm processors.

Price and availability

Unfortunately LG has not communicated either of these two data to the press. The 5G terminals seem not to see the light until this connection technology is fully implemented, in Spain this will initially be from summer. We will be attentive to the news of the brand to communicate this information as soon as possible.
