In a silent and unexpected way, LG has made a new mobile device official. The new LG Q8 has suddenly appeared in some official pages of the company. A high-end mobile that bears many similarities with the LG V20. The company abandons the infinite screen format that we saw in the LG G6 and the LG Q6 to insist on the double screen. And the LG Q8 has a 5.2-inch main panel, to which a secondary screen is added for notifications.
But not only that, the LG Q8 has a powerful processor, a dual camera system, a waterproof design and much more. Its price is not confirmed but rumors suggest that it will be around 600 euros.

Double screen
We could say that the LG Q8 is a smaller version of the LG V20. This mobile launched last year passed a bit without pain or glory through the market, probably because of its high price. However, it seems that the company is not giving up and wants to try another model with a double screen.
The LG Q8 has a main screen of 5.2 inch Quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. This high resolution enables a density of 564 dpi to be achieved.
On the other hand, just above this screen we have a second screen of notifications and shortcuts. It has a resolution of 1,040 x 160 pixels and allows you to access your contacts, shortcuts or switch between applications quickly. We can even use it to reply to messages quickly. It is a kind of Always On Display screen, but with more functionalities.
Double chamber
But the screen is not the only 'double' that we find in the LG Q8. In its back we have a dual camera with a system very similar to that seen in the LG G6.
On the one hand, it has a 13 megapixel sensor, f / 1.8 aperture and 1.12 µm pixels. On the other hand, we have a second sensor with 8 megapixels of resolution, f / 2.4 aperture and a 135-degree wide-angle lens (10 mm).
If we add optical image stabilization to these two sensors and the possibility of recording video with 4K resolution, we have a very powerful photographic set.
On the front it has a 5 megapixel sensor and f / 1.9 aperture. This camera also uses larger pixels (1.12 µm) and has an angle of 120 degrees.
Metallic design and power to spare
Design-wise, the LG Q8 looks a lot like the LG V20. It has a totally metallic body that combines the colors black and dark gray. The fingerprint reader is located at the rear, while at the front we only have the two screens.
But if something we must highlight about the design is the resistance to water and dust. And is that the LG Q8 has IP67 certification.
Inside the LG Q8 we find a Snapdragon 820 processor. It is one of the most powerful Qualcomm processors and that we see in many high-end terminals.
Accompanying this chip we have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. This capacity can be expanded with a microSD card up to 2TB.
Price and availability
As we said before, the LG Q8 has come by surprise. The company has not organized any events and has preferred to hold a silent launch. What's more, this new terminal does not appear on the LG Spain website yet.
For all these reasons, we cannot yet confirm the price or the launch date in our country. We have located the terminal on the LG Italia website and there is talk of a launch scheduled for this month.
As for the price, the leaks point to a price that will be around 600 euros. However, it is not yet confirmed. As soon as we have more news we will update it.
