LG has officially announced the reduced version of its current LG G6 flagship phone. He has not added the surname mini, as the leaks claimed. The South Korean has dubbed it LG Q6. In addition, it has launched two more versions: LG Q6 + and LG Q6a (alpha). In total, these are three devices that are ready to compete within the mid-range. Basically this trio has a set of similar characteristics. They only differ in the internal storage capacity, RAM memory and colors.
We do find more differences with respect to the standard version (LG G6). In this case, we find a smaller processor, a single main sensor and a somewhat smaller battery. Let's see below all the details of the new three LG devices. The LG Q6 will arrive in Spain from the first week of August at a cost of 350 euros. Meanwhile, the LG Q6 + version would arrive somewhat later, in mid-September. At the moment we do not have its official price. The one with the most doubts that it will end up arriving in Spain is the LG Q6a.

Display and layout
The new LG Q6 in its three variants arrive with a screen somewhat smaller than that of the LG G6, 5.5 inches. In any case, they still have some of the most important features of this model: Full Vision technology (virtually borderless screen) and the 18: 9 ratio. Of course, the resolution is also somewhat lower and instead of the 2,880 x 1,440 pixels of the standard version they now offer 2,160 x 1,080 with a density of 442 pixels per inch.
On this occasion, LG returns to use its slogan "Full screen", and no wonder. What is most striking is that it occupies almost the entire front surface of the mobile. And it is more elongated than normal. As we say, instead of offering a 16: 9 format, its diagonal is somewhat more pronounced: 18: 9. This will allow you to make better use of space and insert a 5.5-inch panel into the body of a 5-inch mobile.
At the design level, the LG Q6, LG Q6 + and LG Q6a are similar in appearance to their older brother. In this case, with the metal sides. The edges are slightly rounded, which makes it easy to grip. Where we are going to find the main differences is at the rear. The new models do not have a fingerprint reader and only have a single main sensor. In the security section, the company has added facial recognition, something that for many users will not make up for the absence of the fingerprint sensor. Also, its measurements have changed slightly and are somewhat thicker, but considerably less heavy than the LG G6. They measure exactly 142.5 x 69.3 x 8.1 mm and weigh 149 grams.
Power and memory
The new LG Q6s are powered by a somewhat lower processor than the standard model. From the Snapdragon 821 it is now passed to a Snapdragon 435, an eight-core Cortex-A53 chip manufactured at 28nm. As for RAM and storage, the user can choose according to the version. The LG Q6 has a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of space. The LG Q6 + offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Lastly, the LG Q6a makes do with just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It is the most restrained model of the three.
Camera with a single main sensor
LG has decided to suppress the dual camera in these models and in its defect has integrated a single sensor with a resolution of 13 megapixels. At the moment we do not know the aperture and if it has outstanding functions such as image stabilization. It does seem that it includes an LED flash to improve the quality of images in dark environments and the option to create animated GIFs from our videos.
The secondary sensor has been located on the front, which offers a resolution of 5 megapixels. Its most interesting feature is a wide angle mode up to 100 degrees. This allows for larger photos in group selfies or when photographing a building or landscape behind.
Battery and operating system
The battery of the new LG Q6, LG Q6 + and LG Q6a has a capacity of 3,000 mAh. It is, therefore, slightly lower than the one present in the LG G6 (3,300 mAh). We will have to see in more exhaustive tests how it responds, although it should not give problems considering the performance of these teams. At the very least, you should be able to hold out for a full day.
On the other hand, these three models come standard with Android 7.1.1, the latest available version of Google's mobile platform. This gives them advantages over other models. Nougat, for example, finally includes the new multi-window system, which allows you to use several applications from the same panel.
Colors and availability
The new LG Q6 will land on the market in a wide variety of colors. The LG Q6 will be available in black, silver, white and gold. The LG Q6 + will do the same in black, silver and navy blue. For its part, the LG Q6a will be dressed in black, silver and gold. As for availability, the LG Q6 will arrive first. In August and with a price of 350 euros. Later will come the LG Q6 +, originally scheduled for September 15. At the moment its price has not been revealed. What seems difficult is that the LG Q6a lands in Spain.
