We have been seeing flexible mobiles since the beginning of 2019. However, no terminal has yet come onto the market. Samsung had to cancel the launch due to the different problems of the screen, and Huawei, despite the fact that users found no problems, also decided to postpone its release. LG, another of the companies pending to launch a flexible mobile, has not yet revealed information about this technology other than some information about the screen. The closest we've come to a flexible LG mobile is the second screen of the v50 ThinQ 5G. Now, a new patent from LG reveals a very interesting folding mobile design.
The patent published a few hours ago shows the diagrams of a flexible mobile with a novel design. Most of the terminals we have seen to date have a hinge in the center, but this one has two hinges separated by a screen. These two hinges fold inwards to get a terminal with a more compact screen and unfold if we want to have a larger size. Here comes the interesting part, and that is that one of the hinges has a larger size, so the device when glued will have a hole. This will serve to house a Stylus that would be compatible with the terminal.
Not only will we have the possibility of storing this digital pen, but it will also prevent dirt from entering or something that could damage the screen or the hinge of the terminal. Everything indicates that the displayed screen will have a 3: 2 format, similar to that of a tablet. Therefore, implementing a kind of S Pen is a very good idea. Unfortunately this is a patent. This means that LG has kept the design of this terminal, but it does not mean that it will go on the market. We will have to wait a few months, as the South Korean company has several registered patents.
LG is not the only manufacturer that is considering implementing a stylus in its flexible mobile. Rumors suggest that Samsung could also launch a new generation of the Galaxy Fold with S Pen.
