Just yesterday the news came that LG was in full development of a new tablet with Windows Phone 7. Today the news is still positive for lovers of the successful Korean firm, but also for those Android fans who dream of a tablet to match. The new LG Optimus Pad tablet will become part of the new universe of tablets along with the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Apple's iPad. And it will do so with the new version of Android 3.0, also known as Honeycomb and predecessor of the acclaimed Gingerbread., still to be released.
The fact is that the most interesting features of this LG Optimus Pad are already on the table. LG had in mind to skip the Froyo train to nurture its tablet with a more competent operating system. In fact, this was one of Google's own recommendations. Well, at this point, the world of tablets will have to prepare to welcome a new and advantageous proposition. It is the LG Optimus Pad, a device that will hit the market with HoneyComb, that is, with Android 3.0. In turn, it will have a dual-core Tegra 2 processor and an extensive8.9-inch screen, without reaching the measurements of the iPad, but surpassing the Samsung Galaxy Tab by more than one inch.
Little else is known about this lucid tablet. It is clear that LG wants to position itself as an intermediate option between the iPad and the Samsung tablet, especially with regard to its measurements. But one of the most interesting news that LG has wanted to give, has to do with the availability of the device. For starters, LG's LG Optimus Tablet will be released in both Korea and Europe, leaving behind any doubts about its arrival in the Old Continent. Nothing is known about possible pricing, although we have evidence that the device will make its triumphant appearance during thefirst quarter of the year 2011.
