You already know that just a few days ago, the Vodafone company started selling the new LG Optimus 2X, LG's first smartphone with a dual-core processor. A delight for the most demanding that you have at your disposal from zero euros, that is, completely free if you reach the operator through a portability and take advantage of the recommended rates. The fact is that now we have just learned that the new Korean mobile device will not have version 2.3 of Android Gingerbread until later. Availability was published today: frankly far from our expectations.
The information has appeared in an official data sheet of the product on the official website of LG in Denmark. Still, one has to assume that the release of Gingerbread will materialize around the world. There it is indicated that the new LG Optimus 2X will be released during the next months of June or July for all customers of the free version. In this way, you will have to take into account that mobile phones subsidized by the operators, in our case Vodafone in Spain, will take a little longer to receive their corresponding portion of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The truth is that the users of this phone and the Android community in general was waiting for the update long before, since we are talking about a large-scale phone. In fact, it is certainly paradoxical that a device as equipped as the LG Optimus 2X, the Korean's new flagship, has appeared on the market with Android 2.2 Froyo, a version that we could already describe as obsolete for such advanced phones. We will be attentive to let you know any news about the availability of 2.3 Gingerbread in Spain.
