The LG Optimus 2X is going to be one of the flagship smartphones of this year 2011. So much so, that for just a few days Vodafone already have it in their catalog while other operators struggle to get hold of the first dual-core LG terminal. A few days after the LG Optimus 2X has been put on sale in some markets, the American operator T-Mobile has given very important news. We refer to the message that he has spread through his official Twitter account in which he explains that there will not be a long wait to start enjoying Android 2.3on the LG smartphone. The update to Gingerbread is closer than we expected.
As we said, the first to raise birds to flight has been the US operator T-Mobile. As explained in a recent tweet, the expected version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread would be about to land on the LG Optimus 2X purchased through this operator. Suspicions beat more strongly after the company has spoken, since companies do not usually make assessments about the late arrivals of these updates. In this way, the new LG Optimus 2X would be updated to the latest version of Android. And it is that despite its recent launch, LG's flagshipappeared on the market with Android 2.2 Froyo, a version of the operating system that is now becoming obsolete.
And what about the arrival of Gingerbread to the European market ? Well, if everything works as it should, the update would have to land in the United States in just a few weeks or even imminently. When this launch has taken place, the update will begin to be carried out in European territory, where it will progressively reach all the countries and operators that market this device. In this way, it must be taken into account that the LG Optimus 2X subsidized by the operators will receive their portion of Gingerbread a little later, since the version must go through thefilter from each of these companies.
If the forecasts are fulfilled, Android 2.3 Gingerbread would land on European devices from the next months of June and July. Even so, this information must be taken with caution so as not to fall into errors. We will be attentive to communicate all the news that may arise about this long-awaited update.
