A little over a month ago, LG launched the LG Velvet, a beautiful mobile with a large screen, triple camera and 5G connectivity. It reached the market with an official price of 700 euros to fight in the high range. However, now the Korean manufacturer has a new model ready without 5G connectivity but with a somewhat more powerful processor. This new model has appeared in LG Germany, so we understand that it will arrive throughout Europe in the next few weeks. We are going to know better what changes it offers compared to the LG Velvet model with 5G.
Same design and screen, but with changes inside
The LG Velvet has a sleek, shiny and slim design in two colors. It has a screen that curves slightly to the sides, with a drop-shaped front camera located in the central area. The fingerprint reader is located under the screen. At the rear we have a triple system with a nice design of individual sensors.
On the other hand, like the rest of LG's range, the LG Velvet has passed MIL-STD-810G military tests. These simulate real conditions, including repeated drops and extreme temperatures.
As for the screen, the LG Velvet is equipped with a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a FHD + resolution of 2,460 x 1,080 pixels. It has a 20.5: 9 format and is compatible with LG's Dual Screen system.
Inside we find a Snapdragon 845 processor instead of the Snapdragon 765G of the 5G model. Accompanying the processor we have 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, a capacity that we can expand with a Micro SD card of up to 2 TB. The set is completed by a 4,300 mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging.
The photographic section is handled by a system consisting of three sensors. The main camera has a 48 megapixel sensor with f / 1.8 aperture. It also has an 8-megapixel wide-angle with f / 2.2 aperture. And complete the set a 5 megapixel depth sensor with aperture f / 2.4.
On the front we have a 16 megapixel sensor with f / 1.9 aperture. In addition, the main camera has image stabilization to record much less shaky videos.
Price and availability
As we have already told you, the new LG Velvet without a 5G connection has appeared on the LG Germany website. The device is already on sale in some shops in the German country with an official price of 500 euros.
That is, this model is 200 euros cheaper than its brother with 5G connectivity. So it can be a good option if you are not interested in 5G at the moment but you like the design of the device.
