The South Korean company LG seems to be involved in a project for a new smartphone that will incorporate the Firefox OS operating system installed as standard, an operating system developed by Mozilla with the intention of offering an alternative to Android, iOS and Windows Phone. As a new leak has revealed, this smartphone will respond to the name of LG L25, and it will be a relatively simple mobile that would be LG's first attempt to bet on the Firefox operating system.
Although there is no official confirmation about its existence, rumors indicate that the LG L25 is a smartphone with mid-range features whose most striking specification will be the operating system, corresponding to Firefox OS. Although, as revealed by the user @upleaks of Twitter and unless there is some last minute changes, so far the only LG L25 hit stores in Japan.
As revealed filtration has released the user @upleaks , the LG L25 is presented with a screen 4.68 inches to reach a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels (resulting in a pixel density of 313 ppi). Measures the terminal be established in the 139 x 70 x 10.5 mm in size and 148 grams in weight, which for us an idea results in a very similar steps to those of the LG G3 S (137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3 millimeters and 134 grams).
The performance of the LG L25 will be powered by a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 of four cores that operate in company with a memory RAM of 1.5 gigabytes and internal storage capacity of 16 gigabytes.
The LG L25 will also feature two cameras. The main camera sensor will house eight megapixels, while the secondary camera will come with a sensor of 2.1 megapixels. All these features will be complemented even by 4G LTE, ultra-fast Internet connectivity that allows download speeds of up to 150 Mpbs.
The Firefox OS operating system was officially presented at the beginning of last year 2013, and since then there have been few brands that have opted for Firefox as an operating system; ZTE tried it with the ZTE Open C; Alcatel did the same with the Alcatel OneTouch Fire C; and other lesser known brands like Geeksphone also tried it with projects like the Geeksphone Revolution.
In fact, despite the simple technical specifications of the LG L25, if completely true we would be talking about one of the most powerful mobile phones on the market to incorporate the Firefox operating system. We will still have to wait a few months to discover if LG dares to make the leap with the LG L25 to other markets or if, as we might suppose, we are facing a mobile that will only be limited to certain very specific markets and far from European stores.
