LG has announced that it will present a whole new K series at CES 2017 to be held in Las Vegas next January. The Korean company has updated its mid-range to adapt to new consumer demands. The new K series has 4 renewed devices aimed at offering each consumer what they really need, without having to pay for functions they will never use. One of the most interesting devices of this series is the LG K8, a smartphone screen 5 inches, chamber 13 megapixels and processor four cores for good performance in everyday use. Let's review what the new one offers usLG K8 and what news does it bring compared to the terminal it precedes.
The Korean company LG has announced the renewal of the K series for next year 2017. The new terminals will improve slightly to the current ones, including, in most cases, a better camera and processor. The LG K8 2017 maintains a screen with In-Cell technology and size of 5 inches HD resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, which gives a density of 294 dpi. Regarding the design, we do not have much data, but the photos seem to indicate that the company has chosen to use a metallic finish, leaving aside the curious finish of the back of the current model, which simulated leather. Regarding dimensions, the 2017 model is slightly taller and thinner, but weighs 2 grams more. The full dimensions of the LG 2017 K8 are 144.8 x 72.1 x 8.09 mm, weighing 142 grams. The terminal will be available in 4 colors: Silver, Titan, Gold and Dark Blue.
As usual, the new model improves the technical characteristics of the previous one, but we should not expect a great revolution either. The LG K8 2017 offers a quad-core MSM8917 processor running at 1.4 GHz, compared to 1.3 GHz in the current model. Accompanying this processor we have 1.5 GB of RAM, the same amount as the current model, and 16 GB of internal storage, compared to the 8 GB that the LG K8 of 2016 has. This capacity can be expanded by using a microSD card of up to 32 GB. As for the battery, it increases from the 2,125 milliamps of the current model to the 2,500 milliamps offered by theLG K8 2017.
We also find news in the photographic set. The main camera of the LG K8 increases to 13 megapixels, compared to the current 8 megapixels, while the secondary chamber is maintained at 5MP. The terminal will offer some LG features such as Auto Shot or Gesture Shot for selfies. Auto Shot takes a photo when it detects a smile on the main camera, and with Gesture Shot, you can take a photo with a gesture, without having to touch the screen.
Good news, without a doubt, is that the new LG K8 2017 will arrive with Android 7.0 Nougat installed as standard, something that, from what we have seen, will not be too common in the mid-range. At the moment the launch date and price of the device have not been provided, we will have to wait for the celebration of CES 2017.
