Just a few days ago the new LG K40 and K50 arrived in Spain, but the South Korean company has already renewed these devices with new features and improvements in the camera. The LG K50S and K40S are the new mid-range terminals from LG. Although they will be presented at the IFA in Berlin, the manufacturer has already officially shown them with all their characteristics and details. These mobiles stand out for having a triple and double camera, a battery of up to 4,000 mAh and an eight-core processor. Do you want to know them? We tell you all the details of these new mobiles.
The LG K50S and K40S have quite a few differences, but in the design we hardly see any changes. The two terminals are very similar, with the same design lines as even the previous generation. The South Korean bets on a screen with hardly any frames and with a panoramic format. We see a notch of 'type drop' in the upper area, where the camera and the headset for calls are housed a little higher. At the bottom we have a somewhat more pronounced frame, but it does not include any logo or keypad. The back is made of polycarbonate in both models. The only difference is that the LG K50S has a triple camera, while the K40S has two main sensors. In both we see a fingerprint reader just below, as well as the company logo.
Both the LG K50S and the K40S have MIL-STD 810G protection , a military certification against small bumps and drops or extreme high and low temperatures. Also, with a button dedicated to the Google Assistant. In this way we can wake up the assistant even without turning on the screen.

6.5 and 6.1 inches for the two models
The K50S is the most powerful model, but it will also be the most expensive. The terminal has a 6.5-inch screen in HD + resolution and with a 19.5: 9 format. It is accompanied by an eight-core processor at 2 Ghz, with a RAM of 3 GB and a storage of 32, which is also expandable via micro SD. All this with a 4,000 mAh battery. Taking into account the short screen resolution, and that it comes with Android 9.0 Pie and its autonomy improvements through software, we can expect a very good battery in this terminal.
In the case of the LG K40S, we see a somewhat more compact screen: 6.1 inches. Also with HD + resolution and a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. It is true that the panel is somewhat more compact, but in favor gain a little more pixel density. Here it also includes a 2 Ghz octa-core processor. LG has not specified the model, but we understand that it is the same variant for the two devices. In this case there are two versions of RAM: 2 or 3 GB. Both with 32 GB internal memory and the possibility of expanding via micro SD. In the 40S model we lose a little more autonomy: 3,500 mAh. However, and given that the screen is somewhat more compact, we will not notice differences with respect to the K50S. Among other features, the terminals have support for 4G networks and DTS: X 3D Surround sound.
The cameras of the LG K50S and K40S
In the photographic section there are no big differences. The LG K40S has a dual camera with a 13 megapixel main sensor and a second 5 megapixel wide-angle camera. The K50S has these same cameras, but a 2 MP depth of field sensor is added. This third lens will help us with photographs in portrait mode. The front camera is 13 megapixels in both cases.
Price and availability
The truth is that LG has let us see all the benefits of these two models before their launch at the IFA in Berlin, but they have kept their price. We will still have to wait to find out how much these mid-range terminals will cost. While they have been announced recently, we might not see them on the market until next year.
