Sales of the iPhone have registered, in Spain, a decrease this last year compared to 2011. It is known that in Spain, the dominant platform is Android, where many of the manufacturers (Samsung, Sony, HTC...) have put their seeds so that the Google icon system is the clear winner "" and with a clear advantage "" in front to your competitors.
Things are not going well at Apple, especially as regards Europe ”” more specifically in Spain or Italy ”” the presence of Apple's operating system has decreased in the last 12 months. According to the Kantar World Panel company in a study, the Cupertino firm has had a decrease of 2.2 percent in Spain compared to the year 2011. However, and on the other hand, Android has gained followers in recent months and already obtains 84.1 percent of the Spanish share, 25.4 percent more than last year at the same time. In addition, the firm also states that Samsung is the manufacturer with the largest market share., with about 50 percent of the market on European soil.
Even so, Spain is not the only country to register a decrease in the activity of Apple's mobile operating system and its iPhone: Italy, for example, also notes a decrease in its statistics and the presence of the iPhone falls by 0.6 percent (from 21.2 percent to 20.6 percent). Likewise, in Australia or Brazil the same thing happens: in the first case, the iPhone drops share to 35.9 percent (5.4 percent less than in 2011). And in the second country, the quota drops 1.6 percent, standing at 1.6 percent at the end of this year 2012.
On the other hand, things are not going well in the sector of touch tablets either: the iPad also registered a decline worldwide of 14 percent in the last four months, and saw how the options in the Android sector were approaching powerfully 50 percent market share. Moreover, some agencies forecast that next year the figures would be even more balanced.
But going back to the iPhone, the latest model (iPhone 5), it is not being attractive enough to the public. In recent months, different problems of the model have been known: loss of WiFi connection, more battery consumption than usual, especially after the update to iOS 6.0.2. To all this should be added that the arrival of a new model in the middle of next year sounds strong: the iPhone 5S, an improved version of the current model that would not involve aesthetic changes but the arrival of NFC technology to the terminal or a battery of greater capacity.
Similarly, it is speculated that the iOS 6.1 version may arrive in January with some improvements that may boost iPhone 5 sales, such as new functions for the Siri virtual assistant or improvements to the Maps application. In any case, the arrival of the long-awaited Jailbreak is being requested and could be one of the reasons why the general public is leaving Apple equipment aside.
