OnePlus has already confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will be presented on July 27, but this Asian manufacturer has also announced that it will not be a conventional presentation. The OnePlus 2 will be presented with the support of virtual reality technology, which means that users who have virtual reality glasses will be able to follow the event as if they were in it in the first person. But, given that not everyone has glasses with this technology, OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus Cardboard can be purchased for free - having to pay only the shipping costs - from next July 3.
These virtual reality glasses are very similar to the Google Cardboard, and the idea that OnePlus has had is to allow users to follow the presentation of the OnePlus 2 live through these virtual reality glasses (using any smartphone). The OnePlus Cardboards will be available at this link as of July 3, and to inaugurate their arrival, OnePlus has announced a contest through which 1,000 units of OnePlus Cardboards will be given away to users who fill out this form in the coming days.
But, beyond this peculiar presentation, in recent weeks OnePlus has also revealed a multitude of features of the new OnePlus 2. We can confirm that this new flagship of the brand will come with a fingerprint reader, as well as we know that it will incorporate a fast charging port (USB Type-C) and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor in version v2.1. Everything indicates that the new OnePlus 2 will not be exactly cheap, and OnePlus itself confirmed that its price will be above 300 euros.
In addition to the technical specifications confirmed by the company itself, the network also speculates that the new OnePlus 2 will be presented with a screen size set at a figure that will be between 5.5 and 5.7 inches, all accompanied by type resolution Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels). The processor - a Snapdragon 810 - will be accompanied by 4 GigaBytes of RAM and 64 GigaBytes of internal memory, in addition to an Adreno 430 type graphics processor. The main camera will apparently be 16 megapixels, and the battery that will give life to all these characteristics will have a capacity of 3,330 mAh. Certainly, notably superior characteristics to the Snapdragon 801, the 3 Gigabytes of RAM and the 13 megapixels in the main camera of the OnePlus One.
For now, the shipping costs that will accompany the distribution of OnePlus virtual reality glasses are unknown. Next July 3 we will have doubts about it.
