Huawei returns to the charge with a mobile entry, designed for those who do not want to complicate life with telephony too much. The new Huawei Y3 2018 follows in the wake of its predecessor, presented a year ago, but with some notable improvements. It comes with more battery, a slightly improved camera and Android 8.1 (Go Edition), making it the first model of the firm with pure Android. A mobile entry for all audiences
At first glance, the new Huawei Y3 2018 is very similar to the Y3 2017. It wears a very basic polycarbonate body, although it is true that the finishes appear to be of good quality. Its edges are slightly rounded, giving the feeling of being a comfortable and handy device. The rear is quite clean. We only have a single main chamber and the seal of the company presiding over the central part.
The screen of the Huawei Y3 2018 is not infinite, it is not too large or has a high resolution, it does not even reach HD. It has a size of 5 inches and a resolution of 854 x 480. However, we must not forget that we are facing a low-end mobile.
Power and memory
Inside the Huawei Y3 2018 there is room for a MediaTek MT6737M processor, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. It is a very tight set, but enough to use basic applications, browse or check email. With regard to storage capacity, the Y3 2018 offers 8 GB, expandable through the use of microSD cards in case we run out of space.
Camera with autofocus and LED flash
Huawei has equipped its new device with an 8 megapixel main sensor with a focal aperture of f / 2.0, autofocus and LED Flash. This last feature will allow us to capture images at night or in dark environments. For its part, the front camera has a resolution of 2 megapixels, somewhat poor for quality selfies.
Android Go
The Huawei Y3 2018 is governed by Android 8.1 Oreo, but it also does so together with Android Go, one of the main novelties of the device. In addition, this makes it the first model of the company to have the pure version of the system. On this occasion, Huawei has therefore dispensed with its popular EMUI customization layer. Likewise, the Y3 2018 also has a 2,280 mAh battery, without fast charging, and a section of connections that is not bad at all. It has WiFi, LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB.
Availability and price
At the moment it is unknown when the Huawei Y3 2018 will go on sale. It is known, yes, that it will arrive in China soon. In addition, it will do so at a price below 100 euros. We did not expect less from this entry range, which is already emerging as one of the favorites of children and undemanding users.
