Apple has raised the prices of applications in European online stores. From now on, the minimum price per download will be 0.79 euros compared to 0.89 euros until less than a week ago. However, the prices of the different applications in the extensive catalog can be affected from 0.10 euros to an extra euro. And all this without notice.
According to the MacRumors portal, Apple increased the prices of the applications available in its famous App Store. But beware, only in European countries, among which is Spain. Until a few days ago, the minimum price that the user could find in the virtual store was 0.80 euros. Now the price starts from 0.90 euros. And the change is not due to the increase in VAT to 21 percent in Spain, since other countries of the European Union have also registered this variation and have not seen any change in their value added taxes.
Those of Cupertino have not given any explanation, they did not even present a statement informing about the price increase. Although, apparently, the reasons are that Apple has decided not to rely more on the US dollar and switch to the local currency of the affected countries. On the other hand, the developers complained and warned that the company had not reported the price increase for their creations. Moreover, this decision could mean a decrease in the sales of the applications, in addition to "" and as has already been shown in a table "" developers will earn slightly less, while those in Cupertino will pocket a little more money to put the download platform.
Therefore, things remain like this: applications that are worth less than one euro, will see their price increased by 10 euro cents. While applications that reached six euros, now will cost one more euro.
Following the passing of Steve Jobs, Apple is taking another tack. The co-founder of the company was against some of the decisions that are being made today. For example: the recent arrival of the iPad mini on the market. Jobs did not agree with seven-inch computers "" 7.9 inches is the case "". And I did not want to diversify the products too much.
On the other hand, an iPhone with a bigger screen was not healthy either: he maintained the idea that the 3.5 inches of the models before the iPhone 5 were the perfect ones. However, Apple, with Tim Cook at the helm, has decided that it was time to turn the page. An option that the other founder of the company, Steve Wozniak, did not like too much, who, with harsh words, commented that Apple was becoming an arrogant company; I did not understand how the Cupertino people can believe that they always have the right solution. And, on the other hand, he praised companies like Samsung that bet on more product diversification, where you can also see large models that are having great success in the market: Samsung Galaxy S3 achieved sales of 20 million units in the last quarter.
