The 5 big differences between the samsung galaxy s3 and galaxy s2
Much has been said about what we could see in the Samsung Galaxy S4, the terminal that will renew the high-end of the South Korean manufacturer for this year 2013. However, there are still users who are undecided when it comes to getting a smartphone today, doubting whether they should get one or another terminal, since each one has different prices. In this sense, today we propose to highlight the main differences that separate one device from the other.
1. Display
It is obvious: what we will find in the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a much better panel than in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S2. This translates not only in terms of size, but also in resolution. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a surface of no less than 4.8 inches, a very generous format that, however, is not uncomfortable. The Samsung Galaxy S2, for its part, incorporates a 4.3-inch screen. But as we say, the resolution also counts when evaluating these mobiles. The current high-end distributes an electronic canvas of1,280 x 720 pixels, which allows it to be placed within the margins of a high definition panel. The Samsung Galaxy S2, on the other hand, stays in the WVGA standard, or what is the same, 800 x 480 pixels.
2. Processor
The power of a smartphone resides, to a large extent, in its processor. And the one with the Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the best on the market. It is the Exynos 4 Quad, a quad-core unit that develops a power of 1.4 GHz. The Samsung Galaxy S2 carries the firm's previous generation of chips. Again, it is an Exynos that we find, but in this case based on a dual-core architecture, reaching a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz.
3. Battery
The great unfinished business of the smart phone is autonomy, and manufacturers are turning to units of increasing amperage to try to mitigate this problem. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S3, what we find is a battery of 2,100 milliamps, which can have a duration in use of more than eleven hours. The Samsung Galaxy S2, for its part, integrates a 1,650 milliamp unit that, in its case, lasts in theoretical terms just over eight hours in intensive use. In both cases, we consider that the 3G connection is activated.
4. Memory
The difference is apparently less in this case, although depending on which users it may be something to take into account. And it is that while in the Samsung Galaxy S2 the available options of the terminal are limited to 16 or 32 GB of internal memory, in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S3 the options are expanded with an additional version of 64 GB of integrated capacity. In addition, the latest high-end of the firm supports memory expansions of up to 64 GB through microSD cards, while the maximum that the Samsung Galaxy S2 supports remains at 32 GB.
5. Connectivity
Both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are phones that can be connected to the Internet via 3G or Wi-Fi, also having Bluetooth and MHL- compatible microUSB to launch a high-definition multimedia signal, as well as GPS. However, the presence of the proximity communication sensor is not taken for granted in both cases. While the Samsung Galaxy S3 boasts the NFC chip in all its versions, in the Samsung Galaxy S2 it is an optional feature that is not available on all models, so some functions, such as Bean, could not be developed in the high end of 2011.
