The renewal of the Huawei P20 has left a very good taste in the mouth in Paris, where it has become known. The new Huawei P30 distances itself from its predecessor, improving features and a design in which the notch or notch has been cut to give more space to the screen. The photographic section has also evolved. Now we find a triple camera instead of two, with an improved night mode, as well as a camera for higher resolution selfies.
The Huawei P30 also includes a more powerful processor along with 6 GB of RAM and a battery with wireless fast charging and charge sharing. To all this we must add Android 9 Pie and a fingerprint reader under the screen. If you are interested in knowing the main differences between both models, do not stop reading. We reveal five of them.

1. Reduced notch, more screen
Huawei has changed the design in its new P30, giving more prominence to the screen. If the Huawei P20 arrived with a notch or notch, this has now been reduced slightly, adopting the shape of a drop of water that we are seeing in other rival models, or in the firm's own Huawei P Smart 2019. Outcome? A front with hardly any frames or distracting elements, such as the fingerprint reader, which is now included in the panel itself. This has also grown, and from 5.8 inches it has now gone to 6.1 inches. On the other hand, it uses OLED technology instead of LCD, with more defined and natural colors. The resolution is still Full HD + (2,340 x 1,080 pixels).
Huawei P30
For the rest, the Huawei P30 retains the shiny finished chassis of the P20 on its back. However, a triple upright sensor has been included in place of the dual camera that is present on the P20.
2. More processor and RAM
As is normal with each new generation, the Huawei P30 integrates a more advanced processor than the one included in the P20. It is a Kirin 980, a SoC manufactured in 7 nanometers, which yields enough to work with heavy apps or use several tools at the same time. But what is really interesting about this chip is that it has two neural processing units (NPU for its acronym in English) designed to give more ease to processes related to Artificial Intelligence. Therefore, it is able to recognize a large number of situations automatically and in real time to apply special modes with the camera, or improve the brightness in dark scenes.
Huawei P20
Also, the P30 has more RAM than the P20. If the latter houses a 4 GB one, its successor now incorporates 6 GB of RAM, which makes it even more efficient. In short, the new member of Huawei's P family is more capable when it comes to working with all kinds of applications. We will notice a more fluid and faster system, without it overheating or crashing when we are playing some games or have many processes open.
3. Triple camera
The triple camera is another of the big differences between the P30 and the P20. While last year's model was unveiled with a double sensor, the current one offers a triple sensor, more adapted to the times. The first (wide angle) has a resolution of 40 megapixels and aperture f / 1.8. The second (Ultra wide angle) is 16 megapixels with aperture f / 2.2. The last telephoto lens, which will be responsible for capturing effects with bokeh effect, reaches 8 megapixels with OIS and aperture f / 2.4. The most surprising thing about this camera is its 30x digital zoom, which means that we can see distant details not recorded before in other terminals.
Huawei P30
Apart from this, Huawei has added Huawei AIS technology, based on Artificial Intelligence. The P30 is capable of detecting dark scenes, showing greater brightness and detail in night mode. The front sensor has also improved. Of the 24 megapixels, a resolution of 32 megapixels is reached in the new model, keeping the f / 2.0 aperture.
4. MicroSD
Although the two mobiles have a storage capacity of 128 GB, we must highlight a very important difference: the memory card. The Huawei P20 does not include expansion through the use of microSD cards, a situation that the company has changed in the new model. The P30 offers this possibility with microSD of up to 512 GB of space.
5. Battery
The Huawei P30 arrives powered by a higher capacity battery. This is 3,650 mAh with the possibility of fast charging and wireless charging. In this way, we will not have too much problem with the load. With normal use, it should last for a whole day, although this will depend a lot on the established configuration.
