They are already here. The new iPhones are now official. Apple has presented us with no less than three new devices. The company has decided to skip the "S" version that played this year and go directly to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Not forgetting the special edition to commemorate the 10th anniversary, the iPhone X. Although the latter is the most striking, the new iPhone 8 have several very interesting developments. We are going to review the 5 most important keys of the iPhone 8 Plus, the largest model.

New glass design
Although the change is not radical, it is striking. Apple has decided to keep the same design of the iPhone 7 Plus, that is, we continue with the upper and lower frames quite pronounced. The Touch ID fingerprint reader continues to be located on the front, under the screen.
However, in the back we do have news. Apple has decided to abandon aluminum and go back to glass. According to the company, they have used “the most resistant glass ever used in a smartphone”, both on the front and on the back. It is a glass created to measure with a coating that makes it 50% more resistant. This is reinforced by a steel substructure and an aerospace-grade 7000 series aluminum trim. An oil-repellent finish is also included so stains and fingerprints are easily cleaned.
On the other hand, as usual, we also have new finishes. The iPhone 8 Plus will be available in space gray, silver and gold. The most striking color, without a doubt, is the latter. When changing to glass this gold looks very different from the gold of the previous models.
The change of material has not meant the loss of resistance to water and dust. The iPhone 8 Plus maintains the IP67 certification.
Display with True Tone technology
There are not many news on the screen, but they are noticeable. A 5.5-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels is maintained. However, True Tone technology has been included, which we first saw on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. This system uses an advanced four-channel ambient light sensor that subtly adjusts the screen's white balance to match the color temperature of the surrounding light. This translates to more natural images and less eye strain.
On the other hand, the color gamut has been expanded and the color accuracy has been improved.
New more powerful heart
As expected, Apple has equipped the iPhone 8 with a new processor. It's called A11 Bionic and it has no less than 6 cores. According to Apple, it includes four efficiency cores up to 70% faster than on the A10 Fusion chip. But also two performance cores up to 25% faster.
The new chip includes a second-generation performance controller. This provides more power when needed, without reducing autonomy.
In addition, the iPhone 8 Plus includes a new three-core GPU developed by Apple. This is, according to the company, up to 30% faster than that of the A10 Fusion chip. All this power allows you to enjoy augmented reality apps and games without problems.
Improved cameras
The iPhone 8 Plus once again relies on a dual camera system. Specifically, it includes a wide-angle camera that has a six-element f / 1.8 lens, optical image stabilization and a larger and faster 12-megapixel sensor. And another camera with a telephoto lens of f / 2.8. The two together make both optical zoom and Portrait mode possible.
And precisely in portrait mode we have another of the great novelties of the iPhone 8 Plus. Now we have sharper details, more natural out-of-focus backgrounds, and improved performance when light is out.
But also with a new feature called Portrait Lighting. Thanks to the A11 Bionic chip and the new ISP, Portrait Lighting uses face detection techniques and depth maps to capture faces with shadows, focus effects and much more. That is, the user can select the degree of lighting in the portraits.
We also have improvements in the videos. The new sensors allow recording with 4K resolution at 60 fps and 1080p at 240 fps. It also includes optical image stabilization for video and a better image processor.
Apple hasn't forgotten about the front camera and the importance of selfies. IPhone 8 Plus includes a 7 megapixel sensor, Retina Flash, wide color gamut, advanced pixel technology, and automatic image stabilization.
Wireless charging
It was a feature requested by all users and it has finally arrived. Both the new iPhone 8 and iPhone X have wireless charging. Thanks to the glass back and power supply, the iPhone 8 Plus works with Qi wireless chargers.
In addition, Apple will launch the new AirPower base next year. It is a wireless charging station that will allow us to charge the latest iPhone models, the Apple Watch and the AirPods at the same time.
And these are the 5 most important news of the iPhone 8 Plus. The terminal will arrive in stores on September 22 with a price starting from 920 euros.
