One-piece metallic design
The first change we appreciate in the Motorola Moto G5S is its design. The new model features a metallic design made from a single piece of aluminum. This has been diamond cut and polished to obtain a finer and stronger finish. The terminal will be launched in two colors: lunar gray and fine gold.
That is, we will no longer see the line that clearly separates the part of the lid from the rest of the terminal, as it happened in its predecessor. We now have a more uniform rear, with the camera surrounded by a metal ring. The fingerprint reader is kept on the front.
Fast focus camera
In addition to the design, the new model improves the main camera of its predecessor. The Motorola Moto G5S has a 16 megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF). With this technology, focusing is done faster. This camera offers an f / 2.0 aperture, 8x digital zoom and LED flash.
As for video, the main camera can record in Full HD 1080p resolution at 30fps. And the best part is that it includes a video stabilization system.
At the front of the terminal we will have a camera with a 5 megapixel sensor and an LED flash included. This camera also features an f / 2.0 aperture and includes a wide angle lens.
The screen grows
One of the most criticized features of the Moto G5 was the reduction in screen size compared to the previous year's model. Lenovo has wanted to remedy this, at least in part.
The Motorola Moto G5S screen grows to 5.2 inches, compared to the 5 inches of its predecessor. The resolution remains at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. This increase in size brings the density to 424 dpi.
More memory to improve performance
Lenovo has decided to keep the same processor that we had in the Moto G5. That is, the Motorola Moto G5S has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chip. It is a 1.4 GHz octa-core processor and an Adreno 505 GPU.
However, accompanying this processor we will now have 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. While it is true that this option already existed in the Moto G5, it did not come standard.
To move this entire system, the Motorola Moto G5S comes with Android 7.1 Nougat as standard. As we already know, Lenovo is characterized by offering a practically pure system, something that is appreciated.
Greater autonomy
Lastly, the Motorola Moto G5S includes a 3,000 milliamp battery, compared to 2,800 mAh in the Moto G5. To this we must add the TurboPower fast charging system, capable of providing up to 5 hours of autonomy with a 15-minute charge.
Although the Moto G5 also has a fast charging system, it is not as effective.
As we said, the Motorola Moto G5S will go on sale in September with a price of 250 euros.
