The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has become, along with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, one of the best-selling mid-range mobiles in recent years. And it is that despite having been between us for a little over a year and a half, the truth is that today it continues to stand up to a large part of the mid-range models on the market, especially in relation to support for part of the developer community. As we did with its counterpart a few days ago, we have compiled several of the best ROMs for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
LineageOS 16 for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Although today the Redmi Note 5 does not have official support from Lineage, the world's most famous ROM for Android, several XDA developers have created their respective versions for the company's best-seller.
The best thing about this is that it does not have any type of known error, and it has updates via OTA that are installed without having to resort to Recovery.
As for its functions, it has a multitude of customization options, although its reason for being part of its base is born from Android AOSP, better known as Android Stock.
Liquid OS for Note 5
ROM very similar to OmniRom, at least in terms of customization options.
In addition to being based on Android 9 Pie, it has a custom kernel that helps optimize aspects such as performance or energy efficiency of the processor, among other things.
Otherwise, the ROM behaves like the rest of ROMs based on Android 9 Pie.
Pixel Experience for the Redmi Note 5
If LineageOS tries to imitate the vitaminized Android Stock experience, Pixel Experience is a ROM that imitates in detail the entire layer of Google's Pixels.
Same applications, same icons, same launcher and same options as Google phones. The developer himself claims that it does not have any type of error, including the fingerprint sensor.
For this reason, the ROM is totally stable in operation and options, having been in the Android scene for several months.
crDroid for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Based on LineageOS 16, crDroid optimizes system resources even more, proclaiming itself as one of the ROMs for the Redmi Note 5 with the best performance of all.
By drinking from the LineageOS code, it integrates the same customization functions as the latter, in addition to having its own functions and many other legacies of OnmiROM and SlimROM.
It should also be noted its compatibility with the different custom kernels , as it is again based on Lineage ROM.
OmniRom for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Of the most famous ROMs on the Android scene along with LineageOS and Resurrection Remix, which we will talk about in the future.
Although it does not have official support from the original equipment, the ROM does not have any fault regarding the operation of the equipment or its components (connections, fingerprint sensor, camera…).
Based on Android 9 Pie, it has a multitude of options that allow us to customize any apex of the system to our liking, just like all ROMs based on OmniRom.
Havoc OS for Redmi Note 5
It was one of the first ROMs to reach the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and today it is proclaimed as one of the most stable, despite not having official support from the original community.
Unlike the previous ones, Havoc OS tries to bring us the Android experience in its most basic version, which translates into the total absence of Google applications and third-party manufacturers.
It also does not have excessive bragging when it comes to system options. Ideal if we want to reduce everything to the lowest common denominator.
Resurrection Remix ROM for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Along with LineageOS, the best ROM for Xiaomi Note 5. By having official support, Remix is the most stable ROM with greater functionality that we can currently find in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
Support for updates via OTA, compatibility with Project Treble and endless functions are some of the features of the ROM.
The weak point is that it is based on Android Oreo 8.1, although surely we will not miss anything.
Syberia ROM for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Surely the ROMs for the Redmi Note 5 with the greatest number of options to customize the smartphone. In this sense, the ROM bears an enormous resemblance to the Oxygen OS customization layer for OnePlus mobiles.
Otherwise, the system has an interface very similar to Android Stock, being based on Android 9 Pie. It does not have any recognized fault, and it works with all the components of the phone, such as the NFC, the fingerprint sensor and even the secondary rear camera.
With official support from the Syberia team, the ROM is constantly updated.
Bliss Rom for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
We reached the last of the list with Bliss Rom. Despite being one of the most recent ROMs for the Redmi Note 5, it is one of the most downloaded on XDA, the website where the original port was born.
It runs on an Android 9 Pie Stock base, and like the rest of ROMs, it has a multitude of options aimed at both customizing the aesthetics of the system and improving its performance.
Finally, it should be noted that it has official support from Bliss, so it is expected that the updates will be released periodically.
Nitrogen OS Pie for Note 5
One of the ROMs for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with greater support in terms of updates. Nitrogen OS Pie actually releases the security patches at the same time as Google's.
In addition to being based on Android 9 Pie, it has an aesthetic similar to that of the rest of the ROMs. Its options to change the screen resolution and the number of elements that fit on it stand out to further optimize the panel, no less than 6 inches.
It does not have any known bug, and it has updates via OTA.
