Samsung does not stop being news. On the one hand, rumors about the expected Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + are flying around the net. Everyone is looking forward to the departure of this terminal, and rumors and leaks about it are the talk of the industry.
However, the Korean brand also makes headlines whenever their designs and patents are shown or leaked. The last one, without going any further, revealed what a roll-up phone could be. And it is for this kind of information that Samsung is in the news again, this time thanks to patents on the next technology that could be implemented in the brand's folding phone.
Samsung, in the line of 3D Touch
This leak has reached us thanks to the Phone Arena page. On this page they explain that the information was discovered thanks to patents from June 2017. These patents have now been made public, and have revealed the design of a pressure sensor for flexible displays.
This technology is largely reminiscent of Apple's 3D Touch or Huawei's Force Touch. Both systems fulfill the same function, however, in both Apple and Huawei the sensor is placed under a rigid screen. Therefore, the technology patented by Samsung seems to mark a before and after, opening the doors to various options for use.
In fact, these kinds of sensors are not entirely new to Koreans. On the same Galaxy S8 and S8 +, the virtual menu button has this same technology. However, expanding to a full screen, and also flexible, is a more difficult task.
Future plans
The Samsung sensor could be seen much earlier than expected, since, according to the same Phone Arena, it is speculated that this technology will appear implemented in the next Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 +. Even so, and as we always say, we must wait for Samsung to make an official statement about it. From here we will continue to report the last hour about the Korean company.
