Having a competitive fiber offer, crowned as one of the best in the market, is Vodafone's commitment to the low cost Lowi to attract new customers. However, sometimes a succulent promotion does not come accompanied by the best of news. From now on, new customers who choose the fiber of this operator to hire will have to pay 70 euros as a concept of router installation fee.
The price of the 100 MB symmetric fiber from Lowi: 30 euros per month (with three months of permanence), is one of the most competitive today. However, from now on new customers will be required to pay 70 euros at the beginning for the installation of the router, something that until now was not mandatory. Logically, this makes it lose all appeal, especially if we make calculations and come to the conclusion that to make this amount profitable it is necessary to stay with this operator for a couple of years.
In any case, before this news all that glittered was not gold, and Lowi's 100 MB symmetric fiber offer at a price of 30 euros (without having to pay those 70 euros) has already been questioned by the OCU itself. The Organization of Consumers and Users denounced last November that it was impossible to contract it both through Lowi's own website and by telephone.
In practice, they found that it was only possible to contract the fiber rate if it went hand in hand with a mobile rate. The cheapest option, the one offered by the operator, started from a monthly fee of 39 euros, that is, 9 more than the offer that was intended to be contracted. Therefore, this succulent rate was crossed out as a misleading offer, a hook to get customers and try to add other products to pay more money per month.
It seems, therefore, due to this controversy, that the operator has backed down and has decided to add those initial 70 euros to the price as router installation costs. We will have to see what all this translates into, and if users finally choose to choose Lowi before other companies. It should be added that the next best option for symmetric fiber at a definitive price would be MásMóvil: 33 euros for 50 MB (with a 1-year stay).
