With the arrival of the new iPad on the market, application developers have already begun to release the first updates of their applications to adapt to the new resolution of the new invention of the Cupertino. However, these new versions have also reached the equipment that already exists on the market; previous versions that will not enjoy this image quality and that updates will only occupy space in the internal memory.
Apple presented to the general public its new iPad - neither iPad 3 nor iPad HD -. Besides having a graphics chip quad - core would help to have a much smoother multimedia experience, the other big attraction of this model it is the integration of the screen Retina Display reaching a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels an amount much higher than what can be achieved on a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel Full HD TV. And all this on a small 9.7-inch screen.
However, and according to what specialized portals have been able to prove, application updates - and because of this new resolution and graphic power - could weigh between two or three times more than previous versions. As an example, the Vietnamese portal Tinhte, captured what the applications of Apple's office tool: iWork occupied. First, the program in charge of presentations (Keynote) went from 115 MB to 327 MB after its update. Another example, Pages - Apple's Word - would go from 95 MB to 269 MB.
After these updates, users of the iPhone, iPod Touch, or previous versions of the Cupertino tablet, will have seen that the updates have reached the App Store, in which only one great improvement was indicated: support for the Retina Display of the new iPad. That is, improvements that you will not enjoy and that will only take up more space in your internal memory. To demonstrate this, with the previous examples, current users of previous Apple models would have received new versions that will occupy a total of 390 MB more, without contributing anything new.
But beware, this problem does not only extend to older models that will not be able to enjoy the new graphics. But the new iPad in its most affordable version - the 16 GB capacity model - could see its success in the market jeopardized. With these updates, the ability to install many applications is diminished. To this we must also add that the customer who decides on this model will not have the option of using memory cards either - there is no slot - and iCloud only serves to save the information and not be able to transfer applications from the physical memory to the virtual to "clear" the capacity of the invention.
On the other hand, after the first tests and the arrival of the numerous updates, the reactions have not been long in coming. Some already say that the solution is for Apple to introduce a system so that the updates were "smart" and only reached the teams that are really going to take advantage of them.
