Android Pie is getting closer to Samsung phones. The step that the South Korean company has taken towards the final update is the launch of the Beta phase of the latest version of Google's mobile operating system. We have had news since November 15 since it had been released for different countries in Asia, but now it reaches Europe so that users of this market can enjoy the latest on their mobile devices.
As we anticipated, the version that arrives is a beta of Android 9 Pie so it is designed for those users who want to try the latest changes that Samsung has made such as the new customization layer called One UI. We tell you all the details about the beta version of Android 9 for Samsung devices.
The long-awaited beta of Android 9 comes to Samsung phones
The first country to receive the Android 9 beta has been Germany, the devices for which it is intended are the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy S9 +. To test this version we have to register in the Samsung Members application, once registered we will receive the update on the phone and we will be able to enjoy the Android 9 beta. Keep in mind that it is not an open beta, so once you have completed the necessary users will not be available, so if you want to try it you have to hurry to register.
It would arrive in Spain on the 20th of this month, so we would have to do the same process. In this beta of Android 9 for Samsung devices we will find different changes. The main change is that of the Android version, we would go from Oreo or Android 8 to Pie or Android 9. In addition, the interface will change since Samsung recently announced the change of name and design of the interface of its mobile devices. In the beta of Android 9 we will find One UI the new interface with an improved design.
There will also be changes around security, since this is one of the main reasons for Android updates. Specifically, we would have the security patch of November 1, 2018, so the device will have an updated security level that will prevent possible attacks. The update has a weight of 1683 MB which is quite a lot, but if we consider that it is a complete update of the operating system, we see it necessary.
We clarify that this is a beta version and therefore may contain errors or bugs that affect or not the daily use of the terminal. By installing this version you run the risks that this entails, so we recommend that before installing the update you make a backup of your files, photos, WhatsApp chats, music, etc. With this, if for any reason you need to reset the phone, no information would be lost.
