The company HMD Global, a Finnish company that develops and markets mobile phones under the Nokia brand, has just made some of those announcements that manage to bring a smile to its users, especially those who are interested in having their terminal as up-to-date as possible. The Android 9 Pie update, the most recent of Google's operating system, began to be deployed yesterday, December 19, on Nokia 8 terminals. So we could see it announced in a tweet from the HMD Global product manager, Juho Servikas.

Although not everything is going to be good news in this update to Android 9 Pie. As reported by the Android Authority page, it is an 'adapted' version of Android 9 Pie that lacks such basic functions in this new update such as:
- Digital well-being. Apparently, Google cares about the time you spend in front of your mobile phone and in its new version it presents graphs detailing the use you give your mobile phone, so that we are aware of the time we spend in front of it.
- Adaptive battery. Thanks to the artificial intelligence that Android 9 uses, the battery of our phone will learn from the use we give it, thus prioritizing energy and, incidentally, saving on autonomy. A function that phones with Android 9 Pie will haveā¦ except the Nokia 8.
- Application actions. One more step in the integration of applications within the Google smart assistant and in the browser.
Therefore, the smartphone user of 2017 will not have a complete update of Android 9 Pie but a version adapted to their terminal, something that, surely, will not be liked by all its users. However, this does not mean that these functions will never reach Nokia terminals. The adaptive battery feature is in testing and will be available in future releases.
If you have a Nokia 8 and have not yet received the update, do not despair. It will come to you in the next few days. If you want to see it, manually, if you have it available, enter the update settings of your phone.
