The update to android 9 foot of the honor 8x arrives in spain

Not half a year has passed since the official presentation of the Honor 8X and the terminal already has the latest version of the green android system. Android Oreo 8.1 under EMUI 8.2 was the version with which the terminal was launched on the market. Thanks to our colleagues from El Androide Libre we can know that the update to Android 9 Pie of the Honor 8X is already officially arriving in Spain and without the need to register in any beta program. It does so under EMUI 9, the latest version of Honor's customization layer.

The news has come to all of us by surprise. Last week, Honor opened its Android 9 beta program for new mid-range and high-end devices. Not two weeks have passed since the opening of the program and the Honor 8X already has stable EMUI 9.

The update in question has a total weight of about 3.1 GB, and can be downloaded from today from the Software Updates section within System in the Settings application. In the event that the update does not appear, we will have to wait for Honor to activate the packages in the different devices sold in Spain, since as usual, it is usually done in a staggered way.

What's new in Android 9 Pie for the Honor 8X with EMUI 9

As for the news of this version, those coincide with that of the rest of Honor phones that have updated to Android 9.0.

Some of the most interesting are the following:

• Redesign of the interface. Now the colors are lighter and new icons have been included in the applications and the system
• Redesigned system applications
• Improved gesture system
• Improved performance when opening apps and switching between them
• GPU Turbo 2.0 with improved gaming (better graphics and higher FPS stability)
• Time Management application to control the time we spend in certain applications
• New AR lens camera mode that combines augmented reality with the camera and AI (information on places, food, products on Amazon…)
• New Huawei Share 3.0 application to share content with other devices
• New password manager to see the passwords of all our applications
