Android 7.0 Nougat hasn't reached too many phones yet. Just a few days ago we told you that only two out of every twenty mobiles equipped with Google's operating system did so with this latest version. Despite everything, the Mountain View has continued working on the new editions and at this time, there are already devices that are receiving the update corresponding to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Just a few days ago, we heard the news that some Nexus and Google Pixel had started getting the update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat.Today we learned that this data package has come out with a new version number that in addition to bringing all the news of this edition, incorporates some security corrections that were not present in the previous one. We also know with certainty that this little data package that is circulating right now does not change the version number of Android that is installed on phones.
Apparently, in addition, this update would only be available for a very specific group of devices, which apparently would be experiencing problems related to sending MMS. These would be the Pixel and Pixel XL associated with the O2 company in the UK. However, it would not be strange if this same update came to other users whose equipment belongs to other companies, but who also experienced problems with LTE connections on certain mobile networks.
Whatever device you have, as long as it's a Nexus or Google Pixel, you should be ready to upgrade to the new version of Android. And it is that it has already begun to circulate among all the users who have opted for a device from this giant. Updates to Android 7.1.1 Nougat are coming via FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) or over the air, which means that the deployment will be spontaneous and you will not have to connect your phone to the computer. To do this, yes, you will have to have the Nexus or Google Pixel well prepared: make sure that it is fully charged (or at least 50 percent of its capacity) and that it is connected to a wireless WiFi network: is what you need for the download to be stable and correct. Nothing else. If you want, you can also make a backup copy to prevent the contents from being lost due to any failure and check the internal capacity of the equipment, lest you have everything full and there is not enough memory to install the update.
Users who install this new version will have the opportunity to enjoy a major redesign in some elements of the user interface, as well as in the shortcuts (via the application icons) and in the tips sections. A new section called Movements is incorporated into the settings section, through which users will have the possibility of giving automatic orders according to movements: for example, see notifications when picking up the phone. On the other hand, we must point out a much more intelligent system to clean the memory, capable of eliminating photos and videos that have already been backed up and are more than 90 days old. TheAndroid users will also be able to send GIFs, stickers and images from the keyboard. We find novelties in the design of the settings section, indications in the volume controls and an information system with the security bulletins that Google is sending.
Have you already had a chance to test the update? Tell us what is this being the experience and if you had connectivity problems in your Google PĂxel.
