There are only two days to get to know the new iPhone officially. Although we still do not know what it will finally be called, there have been many leaks that have appeared on the network. But today we bring you a slightly different one. And it is that today the Golden Master version of iOS 11 has been leaked. This version is the one published just before releasing the final version to the public. We could say that it is an unofficial final version. And with this version, some of the new features that the new iPhone will include have been confirmed.
And not just the new iPhone, as the software shows new features in AirPods headphones and even in the Apple Watch smartwatch. Do you want to know what iOS 11 has taught us about the new devices? Let's see it.
High resolution OLED display
Apparently the Golden Master (GM) version of iOS 11 includes new wallpapers, both for iPhone and iPad. This would be nothing new if it weren't for the fact that the images are quite illuminating.
The new wallpapers show images either very dark or very colorful. This reveals that, as rumored, the iPhone 8 will feature an OLED screen.
But not only that, we also know that the screen resolution is 1,125 x 2,436 pixels for. Even that it will include True Tone technology, the same that we saw in the last iPad Pro.
On the other hand, the disappearance of the Home button will be supplemented with an action bar that will appear and disappear.
Camera improvements
We all expect improvements in the photographic section, as is usual. At the moment we do not know if there will be an increase in resolution in the cameras, but we will have changes at the software level. New "Portrait Lighting" modes have been discovered , that is, new Portrait modes. Apparently the new mode will improve the depth of portraits by simulating different lighting effects.
We will have to wait to see how Apple explains it, but in iOS 11 up to five different modes have been detected: Contour Light, Natural Light, Stage Light, Stage Light Mono and Studio Light.
They have also been located in the software new resolutions for video recording:
- 1080p HD at 240 fps
- 4K at 24 fps
- 4K at 60 fps
That is, we will have a slow motion with higher resolution (the iPhone 7 Plus is capable of recording at 240 fps but in 720p), 4K video recording in cinema mode (24 fps) and 4K video recording at 60 fps (so far only you could at 30 fps).
Goodbye Touch ID, hello Face ID
There were many rumors that spoke of this possibility, but the latest version of iOS 11 leaves no room for doubt. It seems that the removal of the Home button has also led Apple to search for a new unlocking system. It's called Face ID and we've already been able to see what the animation will be that will help us configure it.
In addition, the front design of the screen has also been confirmed, which will include the small "island" at the top. The GM version of iOS 11 even shows us how to enable the SOS mode of the iPhone through the few physical buttons it will have.
We assume that the large button on the right side of the image will be the power. A button that will also be used to interact with iOS. For example, double-clicking the power button will show the Apple Pay payment cards and what we have saved in Wallet. We can also press and hold the side button to call Siri.
New animated emojis and more news
In addition to the new features at the hardware level, the iPhone 8 will also come with new features in the system. Apparently, Apple has prepared a new version of 3D and animated emojis in iOS 11. According to the leaked information, they are called Animoji and will use facial recognition and our voice so that the emojis include our expression. It sounds like a lot of fun, although it seems like they will only be available in iMessage.
<Lastly, the GM version of iOS 11 also references new AirPods and an Apple Watch with LTE connectivity. The new earbuds could be a minor update to the current AirPods. And as for the watch, it is still unclear if we will see the new Apple Watch in this keynote or later.
So, as you can see, it seems that Apple has prepared a lot of news for the iPhone 8. On Tuesday afternoon we will have doubts.
