The new stage of Apple after the disappearance of Steve Jobs seems to be set to break some of the dynamics that had been repeating in its catalog of mobile terminals. Thus, although until now, in the last two years, the same processor has been proposed in iPhone and iPad, the tradition could change in 2012, the year in which we hope to see the new iPhone 5 and iPad 3.
And it is that as we have learned through information published by those responsible for one of the applications that make the execution of unlocking or jailbreak the terminals possible, Pwnagetool, Apple would be proposing a couple of process chips for both terminals. From Pwnagetool they refer to the data of the analysis department of the financial firm Susquehanna Financial, where they say they have learned about some of the plans of the Cupertino firm in this regard.
However, the characteristics that the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 would have from their respective processors has not transpired. It is expected that they will be dual-core chips, at least, although it has also been suggested that the iPhone 5 can bet on the quad-core units that many manufacturers could install in their terminals for the new lines that will be presented in the imminent year (Samsung, for example, would already have ready a processor of the Exynos family based on four cores and designed to make the Samsung Galaxy S3 gallop like a thoroughbred).
The controversial situation that Apple is experiencing in the processors section is closely related to the soap opera that throughout 2011 has lived precisely with the Korean Samsung as a co-star. And it is that the ARM architecture chips that the iPhone and iPad have been presenting were based on technology from the Asian manufacturer, something that has been endangered as a result of the crossfire that they maintain in the judicial system (or perhaps, precisely the opposite).
So much so that it has already been rumored that Apple could have closed a deal with the American company Intel so that it could develop the A6 processor that would have run from Samsung's account. However, in this regard nothing was made official, so according to the latest data, the distinction of a different processor for each device could have a lot to do with a segmentation in the manufacturers responsible for each unit.
