The announcement and subsequent launch of the iPad a year ago not only attracted the attention of those who saw this device as a possible candidate for an electronic book reader. There were those who realized the possibilities of the excellent resolution and format of its screen as a good ally to give a more current point to that of enjoying reading comics, and in fact there are several applications to enjoy your favorite comics, even buying new numbers from the platform itself.
Today we are going to make you one with a Spanish aroma. It's called Koomic, and like the web version, it offers its customers digital editions of the titles in its catalog. Logically, being an application for iPad, Koomic allows the application itself to play the files. And also free, at the least, a handful of them. We say this because although there are several comics that we can download without going through the box, most of them will ask us to stretch our wallet. As for the price of paid editions, the cost that we will have to assume will fluctuate between 1.6 and five euros.
Among the publishers that participate in this project, which can also be enjoyed on iPhone and iPod Touch (although without the same flavor, given the size of the screen of these devices), we recognize some of the most notable of the Spanish scene, such as Dolmen or Astiberri, and works of great depth in our country, such as the FanHunter noses by Cels Piñol.
Once we select the comics we want to download, we will have to wait until the process is completed for each issue. There will be those who find it somewhat slow, although the process will not take too long. Once we have the comics in the memory of the device we can read with a performance that will remind us very much that of the iBooks (with the organization before seen on the shelf).
The files view works both vertically and horizontally, both in full page overview and bullet by bullet. However, when we choose this second option, the image is noticeably pixelated, so it is almost better to read the pages in full format to avoid a loss of quality.
