Despite the fact that relations between Apple and Samsung are not going through their best moment, the romance between two of the leading companies in their sector is not just living in the courts. So much so, that while they throw away the junk and demand of each other to show their prototypes before putting them on the shelves, they continue their business relationships. At least, that's what we deduce based on the latest information that we have learned thanks to the Phone Arena colleagues.
This publication would have echoed what was published by The Korea Herald, where they point out the interest of the Cupertino boys in the popular AMOLED screens manufactured by the Korean multinational. As usual in these cases, it is an anonymous source who has raised the hare, pointing out that Tim Cook (Apple's chief executive while Steve Jobs is recovering from the cancer he has been fighting for months) would have a trip to Korea on his agenda del Sur to meet with senior managers of the company to negotiate the sale of AMOLED panels that would be installed in the iPad 3.
Such is the security wielded by the unknown source echoed in the Korean media that it even points out that Apple would have proposed an advance in the payment of the screens to ensure the supply of the panels.
Without yet having any communication from Samsung (and far from it, from the hermetic Apple), it should be remembered that the Korean company recently presented its very high-resolution screens that doubled the current rates to stand at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.
In that case, it was not an AMOLED prototype, but an LCD. There has been talk some time ago about the problems that the Asian giant would be having to mass produce screens of this type with formats that are higher than those currently spent on its smartphone generation, although last year they already warned that by the second half of 2011 we could See the first Samsung Galaxy Tab with a 10-inch AMOLED screen. Will it get to the iPad 3 sooner?
