The iPad 2 goes on sale today in Spain. Of course, Apple keeps its back for the launch and does not allow the main operators in our country to reserve units to sell under subsidies. That is why companies have to limit, for the moment, to provide data services for those who are agencien new tablet from Apple.
In the case of Movistar, we already know what they have planned. There is no great revolution with respect to what we already knew within the blue operator's rate table. Prices are between fifteen, 30 and 40 euros, for flat rates, as well as billing formulas for data packages and monthly bonuses. In addition, current customers of the company may even share rates on two devices, one of them being the iPad 2 with microSIM. Let's take a closer look at Movistar's strategy for Apple's iPad 2.
We start with the flat rates. From the outset, we can contract rates of 200 MB (almost 18 euros per month, VAT included), one GB (for almost 30 euros per month) and five GB (for 47 euros per month). In all these cases, the microSIM will be given to us for free, and if we exceed the data margin, the connection speed will decrease without additional costs. There is, with these same prices, the option of sharing a single rate between our smartphone and iPad 2.
It is a requirement that we are already customers of a data rate with Movistar, and that if we are with the 200 MB option, we go to the one GB or the five GB option. Thus, the same data billing would operate in the two terminals simultaneously, computing on a single Internet line.
There is another option: to be prepaid Internet customers. The formula works in two ways. On the one hand, we could charge with credit line that would depleted at a rate of 3.5 euros per block of 30 MB. On the other, the solution is to acquire a monthly voucher with a GB of data loaded, with a price of almost 58 euros.
