Small, but bully. This could be the new iPad 2 that would see the light in April 2011 (although the first models would leave the Foxconn factories in February on their way to the Cupertino offices). According to the Reuters agency, the next edition of the Apple tablet would significantly reduce its size, even reaching minimums below what had been estimated at first for the new version of the touch device.
Although the first voices that spoke of a reduction in the diagonal of the iPad screen, with a view to throwing it into the combat arena of its main competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, to reach seven inches, the new data points more high. Or less said, lower, if we stick to the size itself. And it is that as revealed by the well-known international news agency, Apple could have reached a design of up to five inches, making the mix of the concept of tablet and smartphones even more confusing (especially, if we consider that in 2011 there will be mobile phones, like the Acer smartphonewhich has no name yet, which will reach 4.8 inches).
Of course, from Reuters they have not yet specified a possible price for the iPad 2, that little grasshopper that will mean a new attack on Apple's dominance in the recently inaugurated market of tablets with that concept that borders on that of the smart phone. From the agency, in addition, they have once again emphasized the existence of a double front camera system in the iPad 2.
From Cupertino there is no reaction to the information released from Reuters. As early as last October, Steve Jobs revealed that since his company did not intend to diminish the size of the iPad, noting that the system was not designed for a screen of seven inches.
However, it would not be the first time that the company management uses contradictory messages to stimulate expectation in the launch of their products.
