Huawei and its proprietary brand, Honor, have put all the meat on the grill when it comes to updating their devices. A few months ago we saw the status of the update to Android 9 Pie of Huawei phones. Currently there are few who have the latest version of EMUI 9 and Android 9. The Huawei P20, Honor 8X, Play and 10 and many other devices belonging to the two Chinese brands. Now the company re-announces up to four EMUI 9 compatible mobiles.
These are the new Huawei and Honor phones that will receive EMUI 9
EMUI 9, not Android 9, it is the new version of the customization layer of Honor and Huawei phones. To date, a good number of devices already have both versions, as we could see in this other article with the list of mobile phones with EMUI 9. This time the company announces four new terminals that will receive the update soon.
The terminals in surety are the following:
- Honor 9i (LLD-AL20 and LLD-AL30
- Huawei Enjoy 7S (FIG-AL00m, FIG-AL10, FIG-TL00 and (FIG-TL10)
- Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus (FLA-AL20 and FLA-AL10 and FLA-TL10)
- Honor 9 Youth Edition (LLD-AL00 and LLD-AL10 and LLD-TL10)
In Spain, Europe and Latin America, they correspond to the following models:
- Honor 9i
- Huawei P Smart 2018
- Huawei P Smart Plus 2018
- Honor 9 Lite
As for the arrival of the update in question, they are currently in beta in China. All of these will have Android 9 Pie as the base system, and its arrival in Spain is not expected until at least the middle of this 2019; possibly from May or June. It is not ruled out that both companies launch a previous beta version in Spain.
EMUI 9 update features
There are few novelties that we find in EMUI 9 compared to EMUI 8. In addition to the consequent improvements that Android 9 Pie brings, the update includes the following features:
- Improvement of Artificial Intelligence. Now the applications we use the most open more quickly
- Improved battery management
- Refresh some system applications
- Redesigned notification bar
- Multi-tasking panel similar to Android Stock
- New gesture system similar to MIUI 10
- GPU Turbo updated to version 2.0. Games now run more smoothly and FPS stability has been improved
- Improved RAM memory management
- Fixing bugs found in EMUI 8
- Security patch updated to the last month
