The Huawei P40 Lite was made official at the end of February. It was the first member of the P40 family, and it has also been the first to receive an update. No, I don't mean the software ones. The Chinese company has decided to launch an improved version of this P40 Lite: now it comes with 5G and a more advanced camera. These are different from the 4G version.
It might seem that the Huawei P40 Lite 5G only changes in two respects compared to the 4G version, but it is not. While it is true that this model now includes 5G, the Chinese company has had to change the processor to make this possible. It is one of the main differences. Now, the new model has a Kirin 820 5G chipset, focused on the mid-range and which, of course, is compatible with 5G NSA and SA networks. In Spain, only Vodafone has support for 5G networks, and they are limited to some cities. The previous model has a Kirin 810 processor. Of course, the 6 GB of RAM and the internal storage of 128 GB are maintained.

Another change is seen in the photographic section. Now the main camera has a primary sensor with a resolution of 64 megapixels, instead of 48 MP. The f / 1.8 aperture is maintained. The remaining three sensors also remain at the same resolution: 8 megapixels for the ultra-wide camera and two 2 megapixel lenses for macro and bokeh.
Less battery in the new 5G version
There is also a change in the battery. In this case, for the worse: the Huawei P40 Lite has a 4,200 mAh battery. The 5G version drops to 4,000 mAh. In both cases with a fast charge of 40W. Of course, despite the low battery level, the new processor may achieve better optimization.
Some changes also in the physical aspect: the rear maintains that glossy finish, but with a rectangular camera module where the quadruple lens is located and also with more square edges. The front keeps your camera directly on the screen, as well as the 6.5-inch LCD panel with Full HD + resolution.
Price and availability
The Huawei P40 Lite 5G has been announced in Italy. We do not know if this version will reach Spain. We do know what its price is: 400 euros for a single version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. Keep in mind that the terminal does not have Google services.
