Huawei is one of the brands that is continually registering ideas in the patent office. The Chinese company focuses, above all, on saving curious ideas for the camera module of its terminals. A few months ago a patent showed a module with a touch screen to perform actions, such as zooming, moving between images, etc. Now, a new patent registered with the National Administration of Intellectual Property of China reveals a mobile camera that looks like the control of a console.
The registered design shows a cross camera shape, with four modules on different sides and what looks like an LED flash in the center. This shape reminds us a lot of the buttons on the console controls, which are used to slide between the options or move the character. The patent does not show any characteristics related to this cross-shaped module, so it can simply be a different look for the back of its terminals.
The module displays four lenses on each side. We can see a square-shaped one at the bottom, which could be an optical zoom lens, like the one included in the Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus, as well as in the Huawei P30 Pro. The other three lenses may be dedicated to wide angle, macro and wide angle (normal camera).
In addition to the camera module, the terminal has a panoramic screen with hardly any frames and slightly curved. In addition, it also has a headphone jack in the upper area.
A Huawei mobile for games?
This form of camera makes us think of a specific model for games. That is, a mobile whose features and functions are focused on performance and games, with a large screen and an appearance similar to that of a console controller. Also, including a headphone jack is also a clue. The Huawei Mate 20X, one of Huawei's gaming mobiles, has a headphone jack. In this way we can connect the 'helmets' that we use for gaming without any problem and without the need for an adapter.
It is not the first time that Huawei has patented a camera module this strange. A few months ago a patent revealed a camera with interchangeable lenses. Another with a screen to see the time and notifications and another design with a circular screen that would allow actions to be taken. We will see if later Huawei decides to launch a mobile with this design or simply stays in one of the many registered sketches.
