Huawei has not yet officially launched its first phone with a folding screen and it already seems to have its successor in its hands. There is nothing confirmed at all. Moreover, patents do not even assure us that what is seen in them will ever become reality, but they can serve to see where the steps of a certain brand are headed. And these steps confirm that, at least Huawei, is going to follow the path of the folding screen, investing in a technology that, for now, has taken more wrong than right steps, we just have to remember the case of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the tests to which various YouTube media subjected him.
Thanks to the application for a new patent we can see up close what could be the new design of future folding screen terminals of the Chinese brand. And we already see the first differences with respect to the Huawei Mate X: the next terminal could be folded twice and the visible sidebar would disappear. It would have two hinges on the sides that would facilitate double folding, as we can see in the following screenshots.
The user will be able to configure the different display panels, having more options now that the screen could be folded on two sides, exposing three different screens. And having the three screens displayed would activate a personalization layer that would allow the user to have an even larger screen, being able to do without adding a tablet to the purchase of this terminal.
At the moment this remains as a patent and everything that follows falls within the mere field of speculation. It is evident that we do not know anything about the operating system that this mobile with a new folding screen system could house. Could it be the new operating system, developed at full speed after the Trump blockade, Ark OS? We already know that the veto would not affect the terminals already on the street, but it could have consequences for all those who remain to come.
The end of 2019 is moving for the field of terminals with a folding screen: both Xiaomi and Oppo are preparing two launches, the first of them also with a price well below what has already been seen in these phones. Or at least that's what is rumored.
