Huawei is one of the few manufacturers that has really innovated in its terminals. It was the first company to include a 50x zoom in a mobile, and one of the first to launch a high-end smartphone with an ultra curved screen. It seems that the Chinese firm also wants to take the lead in its future smartphones. They have published a patent for a mobile without a front camera and with side frames that will be all screen, will it arrive in the Huawei P50?
Huawei's patent, published in the national intellectual property office of China and revealed by the LetsGoDigital portal, shows a mobile with a very futuristic appearance. Although they are only diagrams, we can appreciate some of the most interesting features of this terminal. First of all, that there is no camera on the screen. Neither frames. We don't know how they could include a selfie camera system, as no sliding mechanism is shown in the concept either.
Possibly the camera is below the screen, and when you want to use the panel pixels become transparent to let in light. This is something that we have already seen on occasion, thanks to the technology of OLED screens.
Curved screen to the rear
Another interesting detail is that the screen will have a very pronounced curvature, which will even reach the rear. This curvature could have some functions or shortcuts, but we do not know how they can solve the dreaded phantom touches when we hold the terminal with our hand.
In the patent there are two back designs. On the one hand, one that shows a camera vertically. The other scheme has a rounded chamber in the center. This gives us a hint of what Huawei could be preparing. Perhaps this design and the on-screen technology will arrive with the Huawei P50, the brand's next flagship to be unveiled next year. Therefore, the Mate 50 could also include this 'all screen' design with that curvature on the edges. It is early to know if the Huawei Mate 40, which would be announced during the month of October, will arrive with this design.
