In Huawei they know that the mid-range triumphs in many markets, and they have not missed the opportunity to create a model of their P20 family for it. We are talking about the Huawei P20 Lite, which for a price of about 400 euros, offers features seen in the high range. We are talking about the double camera to create the portrait mode, but also about metal and glass finishes and, above all, the famous notch or notch design. And it is that the terminal has a fullview screen that reaches the top end, leaving the speaker and the selfie camera isolated on a small island. But we better tell you what its key features are so that you have a good idea of what this device presents.
High-end design with headphone port
It is the first thing that catches the attention of this terminal. And, although glass and metal have been democratized in the mid-range, as well as double sensors, not all manufacturers include a fullview screen in their most accessible terminals. And much less follow the aesthetics of the iPhone X and its striking screen.
We are talking about the aforementioned notch or notch, which collects a circular speaker and the camera for selfies and separates them from the rest of the panel, which borders this island to the upper end. Of course, it breaks with what is seen in the iPhone X in a very important point: it does have a headphone port (3.5 mm mini Jack). And also with a MicroSD card slot that expands your storage.
Finally we cannot forget about its rear. And is that Huawei has chosen a simple design, which loads the elements (double camera and logo) on one of the sides. A simplistic touch that leaves the fingerprint reader in the middle of the back and makes the color shine. Colors, by the way, that are showy. The sober cell phone is over, the color has arrived.

Fullview screen with notch in mid-range
It may not come as much of a surprise to see that the notch invades Android. Other manufacturers have already included it in their designs. Nor that the low-end terminals have a fullview screen, since three-quarters of the same happens. But that both characteristics converge in the same device is news. Huawei has done it, giving its mid-range the quality aspect of a cutting-edge technology terminal. It may not have all the technology of the iPhone X, or it may not have the best screen on the market, but it will get more than one glance away.
Entering the properties of the screen we must talk about a 5.84-inch LCD panel in an 18.7: 9 format. I mean, it's pretty panoramic. It reaches the top end, and leaves a small frame at the bottom. Its maximum resolution is FullHD + or 2,244 X 1080 pixels, which gives it a density of 408 pixels per inch.
Dual camera for bokeh effect
Huawei has not given up on equipping its Huawei P20 Lite with a dual camera. Of course, it breaks the scheme that has been used so far in its high-end devices of joining a monochrome sensor and a color sensor to get the best possible photos by collecting luminance information and details in separate ways. In this case, the double sensor focuses exclusively on offering a bokeh or blur mode.
The main sensor is 16 megapixels in full color, and the secondary only 2 megapixels. The key is that this second sensor is responsible for detecting the background and blurring it. This is how this famous effect is achieved in great detail.
By the way, unlike the rest of the P20 family phones, this Lite includes an Augmented Reality photography mode to play with masks and effects. Similar to what is seen on Instagram and Snapchat.
Complete connectivity section
Despite being a mid-range, it has little or nothing to envy other terminals. In fact, it is appreciated that it has the same design as a high-end and also adds elements that are still basic such as a headphone port and a memory card slot. Something that their older brothers, the P20 and P20 Pro cannot do.
Not only that, it is also a dual SIM terminal, so it can carry two cards and two phone numbers at the same time without problems. Or two WhatsApp, if necessary, since EMUI 8 includes the option to clone applications for simultaneous use. It also has USB type C and the possibility of scanning our face. An agile way to unlock the terminal just by lifting it in front of us.
Up to date and fast charging
Close this list of key points to know that, although it does not have the most powerful processor, the Huaweo P20 Lite arrives with Android 8 Oreo. And even more, EMUI 8, its customization layer. An environment that has known how to age and provide the user with design and comfort possibilities to carry out all kinds of tasks, from having shortcuts at hand with long keystrokes to quickly accessing functionalities to make use more comfortable.
In addition, we must not lose sight of the 3,000 mAh battery, which is most capable if we take into account its screen and processor (Kirin 659). But if it turns out to be a low charge on a busy day, it is always possible to use its fast charging technology. In this way we will never be short of battery if we have several minutes of charge at any time of the day.
