Design

Design is where we will probably see the most differences. The Huawei P Smart + is a premium device, with a glass finish, aluminum frames and a widescreen display. It has a shiny design on the back, where we find a double camera and a fingerprint reader. On the front, a panoramic screen with hardly any frames but with a notch or notch, which also incorporates a double camera.

In the case of the Huawei P Smart 2019, the device is built in polycarbonate, although its back also shows a shiny and elegant finish. Here we also see a double camera with LED flash and fingerprint reader. On the front there are more differences. Although the Huawei P Smart 2019 has a notch, this is of the 'drop type'. Again, the difference in design is clear: the Huawei P Smart 2019 incorporates a 'drop-type' notch with a better use on the front. In the case of the front camera, the Huawei P Smart + stands out by difference. This includes a dual sensor with 24 and 2 megapixel resolution. It allows us to take photos with a portrait effect in more detail, although the Huawei P Smart 2019 can also take photos with a bokeh effect, but through Software.

Software and connectivity

Again, a clear winner: the Huawei P Smart 2019. This includes Android 9.0 Pie, the latest version of Android. It also comes with EMUI 9.0. On the other hand, the Huawei P Smart + includes Android 8.0 With EMUI 8. Although this latest model is likely to update to the latest version, the Huawei P Smart 2019 beats it today. Android Pie includes very interesting improvements, such as the digital balance, better brightness and autonomy management and new options in Huawei's customization layer.

In terms of connectivity, both terminals are very similar. WI-FI, 4G, GPS, Bluetooth, micro USB, headphone jack… Of course, it seems that the Huawei P Smart 2019 has NFC connectivity for mobile payments and other uses.

Is the price difference of the two models very large? The truth is that no. There is only 40 euros of difference. The Huawei P Smart + is priced at about 290 euros, while the Huawei P Smart 2019 will arrive on January 15 at a price of 250 euros.

Looking at the comparison, it is clear that they are very different terminals and each one stands out in a section. Now, if you must choose a model, you will have to decide which feature you prefer.
